Long shot, Dead squirrel with no penetration.

Today this hapless critter showed up at the wifes garden while I was working out an R7 tune over my chrono. I grabbed my Hw50 and took a shot at it's head. I heard it hit like nut. The squirrel slinked a few feet on the drive and went still.

I was pretty shocked. It was at least a 60 yard shot. The chronograph recorded 785 fps with a 8.64 FTT. That's only 11.82 fpe. Upon inspection I couldn't find a wound. I think I killed it with a concussion.

I normally keep my squirrel shots within 40 yards on this rifle but it was the strongest air rifle at hand.

Well, the universe has to balance out, I suppose. (I hope!!)

I've read so many posts about ninja squirrels and duck-the-pellet-pigeons
it's about high time we get a no-hit-killed tree rat (or, woundless-death-squirrel, if you like).
Thank you! 🤝🏼

After countless fly-offs/ run-offs 😖you can't imagine the satisfaction I sense from reading your report! 😊

Cheers,

Matthias
