FX FX IMPACT M4 SNIPER PELLETS & SLUGS .25 cal

thank you, sir, these aea 30 and 33g slugs with 1/18 liner its a whole new animal dime size at 50 yds with them,,
You are welcome. I have zero idea what the magic sauce is with them but they work. OH BTW they like to go FAST 940 on the pellets and 1040 on the slugs. at least for .25.

anyone try the huma-air pin or pellet probe? just got the heavy slug 1/16 600mm and huma pin and pellet probe.
i noticed pushing pellets through the mag is ok but some of the slugs with flay backs fall out before the probe gets into the magazine
which i think would cause a jam aea jsb zen and hybrids work with the recess flat slugs not so much.
sticking with the superior heavy liner 1/18 can't imagine the 1/16 doing any better
got to get some shots over the chrono today those AEA 30 grain group very good at 890 fps.

Sometimes short for Caliber slugs dont feed well, they kinda rotate if there is too much room. I have the Huma slug probe on most of my FXs but have been swapping over to the high flow pellet style probe the released recently. There is a drop in fps when going from the pin/slug style to the pellet style, but still about 10fps faster than the factory FX probe.

These slugs look very interesting, have you used them for any hunting?
No, haven't had the opportunity but, screw it, it's lead, they are accurate they weigh more than my RMR's so....what's not to love and the cavity is HUGE, I'm picturing dead ground squirrels. As a note, I fired up my Mav. VP 600mm barrel today, SD wasn't stellar but....COLD gun with 33.9 AEA pellets fingernail hole 5 shots at 25 yards they only got better. ie almost hole in hole only bi-pod. Switched to 30 gr AEA slugs same POI but slightly faster at 970 pretty much same results. Disclaimer, I was experimenting and things got wild like in a 5/8" spread then they settled down, maybe me, maybe the gun, maybe the slugs, but they weren't too shabby. My SD is so so around 6.4 currently but close enough. If it doesn't rain tomorrow I'll send more lead down range.

Addendum: I'm sick and tired of posts about FX POI shifts. I'll attach some pics in a few hours, but they are of a cold gun, Maverick .25 VP 600mm barrel, fresh out of the garage, on a cold, for me, 54º day, gun has been in a case for weeks. This isn't a one off case, all three of my guns, 2x Mavericks and a Raptor, do the same thing. I'm not in love with FX I call them out when necessary but I'll call it as I see it. Bottom Right first 5 or so, next over 5, then 5, AEA 33.9. Top left 5 AEA 30 gr .25 slugs, then singles.

Hi David, I'm just wondering how you're getting on tuning now. Have you upgraded the liner? Do you think you will be upgrading the hammer, too? I have been looking at the Tungsten hammer, which is around £80 online. i was out with the 26.5gr slugs last weekend but didn't have much success at 970fps.
What I am seeing is the hybrid in 26grain are not the best , lots of people having success with the Zans /H&N and wildman.Lots of people say you may get better results by reducing your FPS to 900/930 but we are all trying for those higher velocities.I have changed over to twin port on standard liner and hoping to get out on Tuesday after the weather settles .I was running 880 with the 34g JSB so will be interesting to see what the twin port does .I am hoping to run 950fps as stated on ZAN box /130bar/950FPS and being able to turn down on macro to 880 for pellets .I think I will however buy the 1:18 liner when it’s available at sportsman /uk dealership.I have been told that’s all I will need to run lighter slugs and heavy pellets but let’s see what standard liner does on slug port first .

here is some that i have shot since i installed the superior heavy liner
so far the AEA 30 - 33g shoot like pellets the H&N hpll , JSB knockouts. the hybrids get some fliers more so than any other.
i also noticed the AEA H&N AND JSB are very close in length
i also noticed if they are flat on the backside like the nsa they tend to be inconsistent
the javelin 32g zan 26.5g i have not tried yet seems lime 25 cal likes slugs in the .298 - .312 in length i noticed.
here is a pic of the different slugs and Lenths

The standard STX Superior liner should do well with light slugs, and the FX Hybrids were designed to perform best in stock rifles. The faster twist liner will be more picky with pellets and light slugs, but will do better with heavy slugs than the standard liner.

In our experience the FX Hybrids have proven to be a nice benchmark standard in accuracy and hunting performance. The best? Probably not, but if thats all I could use I wouldnt complain. My good friend in particular has smashed a lot of pests with Hybrids, and we have tested them in several different pcps/cals with good results.

well i got like 4 hrs in today shot 7 different slugs ranging from 26.5 to JSB 33.49 and AEA 33.9 .
also got to try the huma-air pin probe along with swapping from the pellet port to the slug port.
the huma air pin probe was good for 15fps with either port if you're going to use pellets i found you have to use only shallow skirt depth 2.5mm and less
otherwise, they won't load as smooth. I'm going to shoot both pellets and slugs, so the stock pellet probe is just fine. 33.43 gr 1015 fps I'm good.
however, swapping to the slug port 30 fps so there it stayed re indexed the liner and back on track
out of all the slugs BIG thanks to HogKiller AEA 30g and 33.9 970-980 1/4 in @ 50 yds
JSB KO 33.49g 970-975 just shy of 1/2 group @ 50 yds
the H&N 22g just like the AEA 30 g no adjustments shot the same reg was at 120 went to 125 pw 10 -12 micro 3-1/2 600mm 1/18.
started to get dark chrono was no longer reading so called it a day.
funny when comparing the jsb H&N and AEA there all within a few cm in length side by side they look the same taper and measure the same o.d.
AEA and JSB pellets seem to work the best 29-25g aea 25 and 33g jsb 900-940fps seem to work best
i will say once you get into fine tuning with that knob for hammer travel the shot strings get very consistent.

i will say big change going from a notos to modified notos to this m4 or for that matter any of the higher end rifles.
this is still a new hobby 6 months roughly after drag racing for 20 years i needed something other than my 4x4 atv to tinker with.
powder burners i have but something about these air powered guns got my attention...
well guys figure id pass some info along here is a couple 4 shot strings.
