Good post. The 2 most consistent shooters in our group are myself and my buddy Sam. We are both long time centerfire benchrest shooters. We both shoot pretty much like we do in that game. Front rest and rear bag, free recoil. We try not to touch the gun when firing the shot . I very lightly touch the pistol grip but Sam does not. Everyone else seems caught up in the artillery hold which we laugh at. My wife also shoots free recoil and she will take your lunch money real quick. I will see if I have a pick of our set up to include. Sam shoots a pair of 97s. I really don't see one as being more accurate than the other. As far as why I changed the spring, I was getting shone bad shots that I did not think was me. I know when I shoot a shot that strays because I made a mistake for the most part. So I checked the velocity and was down 100 fps. Spring I took out was not broken but had a double twist, you could see where the break would occur. There is a pic of Sam with his set up. Sam shoots group after 3 shot group at 20 meters that look like 1 pellet was shot. Not 2 or 3 in a row I am talking 10 to 15. I think both his 77s he bought used..View attachment 513768
Can you elaborate on the Titanxl?Mine has krytox and... well something more liike a titanxl spring, custom delrim top hat and guide, soft trigger spring, polish trigger sears...
Yes, Ive got the number one. It needs to be cut off. There should be half an inch sticking out of the tube (so you can screw the piece where the trigger mechanism sits on it by hand, without any need for a clamp). Mine is 4.5 cal. and its about 20 joules. Logically the side you cut needs to be finished too.Can you elaborate on the Titanxl?
