Got a 600mm in .25 coming Monday, going to shoot 40-50 grain slugs wanting to shoot 950 -1000fps How do I adjust the regulator, hammer spring , and dwell time properly? I haven't been able to find any video showing how this is done, thanks.
The easiest way is to open the dwell time and hammer spring to max and then find your velocity with pressure (go a bit over your desired velocity). Then you need to adjust the dwell and spring tension. With spring tension it is easy, go down until the valve does not open anymore, then return half a turn in. With dwell reduce it until you see the velocity drop. That should give you a good starting point. From there you can play to really fine tune it.Got a 600mm in .25 coming Monday, going to shoot 40-50 grain slugs wanting to shoot 950 -1000fps How do I adjust the regulator, hammer spring , and dwell time properly? That is actually a smart idea. It is of course recommended to use silicone oil on orings.Thank you weevil, I read the entire manual and it is quite thorough. The manual didn't mention this, but I was wondering if one can add a tiny drop of silicone oil periodically to the witness holes to help further the longevity of O rings? I also liked the idea of slowly releasing the air pressure screw when turning the regulator down when tuning it, no need to dry fire it.
Thank you for the reply RTI. Could you link a video on how to do this for the Mora if one exists? I've seen some on the Prophet 1 +2 but it appears to me that the Mora is done a little different. Also, I don't want to put too much silicone oil in the witness holes, how much and how often should I do this, say every 500 shots and maybe one small drop from a needle and syringe? The easiest way is to open the dwell time and hammer spring to max and then find your velocity with pressure (go a bit over your desired velocity).
