DonnyFL Quick Disconnect (QD)

So I got a second Yokozuna recently and it came with the QD, which I thought to be a nice thing… but then I started shooting. The gun basically turned into a shotgun. Checked the mod for clipping, nothing there (I upsized as well). Got my head scratching so I swapped it with the regular screw-on Yoko I have on another gun. Hole in hole again. Put the QD version on the gun that donated the regular Yoko. Shotgun. Put the QD Yoko on my ghost (usually running a Falx on that one). Not quite a shotgun but 1.5 inch groups plus 3 inch fliers at 50y instead of the usual 1/4-1/2 inch ragged hole. No clipping. So I swapped the cones between the Yokos and all good on the screw-on and all trash on the QD… seems like the QD messes with your harmonics or whatever on shrouded and/or high power guns. Not sure whether that’s already known but thought let you know in case someone is chasing the same issue.

P.S.: anyone needs a QD adapter for a Yoko?

I bought a QD RYU. And yes the pellet the rifle shot well went from good groups to 6”+ groups at 30 yards. The rifle seems to still shoot other pellets pretty well. Unfortunately I loaded up on 28K pellets it liked when there was a great sale. So I have a rifle, which is the only rifle I own that is moderator ready, and a crap load of pellets that now hate the moderator. Big let down. It Is very quiet though. I picked the QD RYU as there are YouTube videos with the exact rifle and moderator that shot great. Glad you posted this. I am curious if others have the same experience and know if there is a way to fix it.

You can buy the the regular endcap. I’ll do that since I know for my gun that the issue is the QD and not the mod as such.

I have 2 RYU and neither have POI problems that the QD cause
I guess it depends on the gun. I had issues with QD on multiple when I tried. No issues whatsoever w/o QD. Or maybe no issues with ryu since they are a bit lighter than the yoko. Who knows, all I know is that the baffles worked perfect on the screw on yoko but turned 3 guns bad with the QD.

In my case I am shooting a 12fpe .177 rifle. I have only noticed it with one pellet. A pellet the rifle shot well prior to the RYU with QD. Other pellets seem to shoot fine. Just aggravating as I loaded up (went overboard and bought 28K pellets) and now the rifle with the QD RYU doesn’t like them. I have no other rifle I can use it on. I just bought it as I thought it looked cool. Noise isn’t a problem were I live. That’s why I don’t own moderators.

I've equipped my Yokozuna with the Quick Disconnect, and it's mounted on my .308 Texan without any problems at all. 2 shots with 150gr slugs at 100 yards. the tape over the shot was just to market, and then to more from 100 yards.
