Just kinka weird? OK shot over the crony in the summer no prob. So i go out in the garage 35 to 40 degrees and keep getting errors.So take it in the house for a couple hours and works fine.Any hoot ,somen to think about?

Change in lighting? What chrony are we talking about? Electronics shouldn't be affected until they're much colder, and for most circuits cold improves performance.

Could be the battery or low charge. I had an issue last winter with my Coldwell, I plugged a portable usb charger in and it worked fine. Lesson for me was charge my toys if I want them to play nice.

Willy, I've got one of those also. MOST of the time it works great but there's a short in the wiring that I've not yet been able to track down & I never can tell when it'll just stop or not activate. Gonna be re-soldering the wiring soon.

The "Shooting Chrony". Those are particularly sensitive to lighting (unless you've got the light kit, or some facsimile thereof). I suspect a change in lighting is probably what really made the difference. In most cases a short or open circuit would either shut off the chronograph or produce the "Err" result.

Sorg in the cord is a common problem with the Shooting Chrony. It comes from wrapping the cord up tight and neat. Ask me how I know.

Same poop happened to me with my dlx pro chrono,
ended up sending back to dlx guys
they checked it and said
there was nothing wrong with the chrono,
but they sending me new one under warranty anyway,
but they also recommended to use their ir light kit for indoor use only!!!

Set up my green box Chrony in the cellar, wouldn’t work. Read the manual , yup no inside without alight kit.

Ok guys,
the infrared light kit came in and tested it inside with regular lights on and also took it out to test the dlx with light kit into the low winter sun light and works like it should.
the bloody powering of the light kit is an extra hassle but reading every shot makes it worth while.
i don’t know what magic fkry these tiny lights do but they make the chrony work.

Is that overhead light in the first picture a fluorescent light? If so, those can cause issues with readings - your light kit will overcome them, but changing the light source to incandescent or LED works too.

A week or so ago my FX pocket chrony stopped working in -3 deg C weather, only 1 in 5 shots was logged, the next day in a little warmer weather the chrony logged all shots.
