Thank you veterans for your service. My dad was a Korean War veteran and I have the honor of currently having a co worker who is a combat veteran. First thing I did this morning at work was pay my respects. Am acutely aware of the ultimate sacrifices made by many so that I may live as a free, proud American…🇺🇸🇺🇸❤️

I wish it was like this when I was in. Quite negative back then in the 70’s. So again, many thanks.
A disgusting shame how people acted. My dad told me he had heard about how others were treated, so he was waiting to have someone spit on him at the airport. He was really wanting to punch them in the face but he never got the chance. He was never sure if he should feel disappointed that he missed the chance or happy he wasn't mistreated. I suspect the look on his face walking through the airport would have dissuaded all but the blind.

Son of a family that lost my father several brothers to the Germans, and not CUZ they was inept in using explosives.
I have the utmost respect for the people that came here to bail us out, and i am very sad there are so precious few of them left, they are without a doubt some of the only people on this earth i have a actual will and want to shake hands with.

But our wars as of lately, well better stop here CUZ no need to give our dear admins work

When it was my turn to stand tall before the man, somewhat delayed due to education, well in 1988 the man took 1 - 2 looks at me and dropped me like i was hot,,,,, i couldn't even volunteer as a weapons mechanic, CUZ if i was not good enough to play Rambo i sure as hell could not fix his guns.
Back then in the late 80ties i think about 70% of 18 / +18 YO kids / men got drafted for a 1 year stint in the army / navy / wherever.

Theis loss.
Same with Terma ( that make many parts for the US arms and aerospace industry, among those F35 )
I offered them my skill set 2 times, and both times turned down,,,,, i assume due to my commie father i was a security risk,,,, even if later the US Embassy stamped the hell out of my passport so i was able to come and go over there as i pleased.

If Ivan or Fritz come knocking i will also go, alone if i have to, for the 5 - 10 or so people here that is very dear to me, not so much for the country.

You be hard pressed to find bigger friends of the US than the Danes.

PS: i am almost fluent in German, Somehow that have been shovelled into kids in school since forever, and i have no idea why i learned it before i got in in school, i can only assume i must have been very into the 1 TV channel we had, which ran adult education programs in English and German

I have not visited NAM, i read a lot about the place and the war down there, no place for the weak for damn sure.

I like to visit but a flight that long, i will now have to ask that it be NOT undertaken in a tourist seat, CUZ my back are not as good as it use to be.
Actually last long distance flight i took Kuala Lumpur to Paris the therapist of a squad of gymnasts took pity on me and gave me a free adjustment on the floor of the plane.
And that was in 1991 when my back was,,,,, much better.

Those 10 - 16 hour plane flights,,,,, murder on me.

I did visit the graves for WW1 and WW2 near Normandy back in the late 80ties, and i left every Franc and Kronor i had on me on headstones there.
During WW1 many Danes died in the German army, not CUZ they was traitors but Germany took a chunk of Denmark in 1864 ( a bad time we share with the Americans at war with them self at the time )
After WW1 we got a little bit back, we was offered to get it all, but a ( some say benevolent ) King and government insisted there be a election, and most wanted to be Germans, and i assume years later regretted that.
But we got a little back.

The Germans during WW2 called Denmark " the whip cream front" as things was easy up here VS other places, but dont you go thinking Danes just sat on their hands during those years.
Some even choose to die when they attacked the border, but not many CUZ it was a Goliath VS ant scenario.

One Dane went west to assist his friend make the Atom bomb ( Niels Bohr )
