what causes this to pellets/slugs? casting?

was washing some pellets today i use a commercial jewelry cleaner.
was kind of surprised to see this on slugs
i have seen it on some pellets chp/ jsb not so bad and not any in the 2 tins of Jts pellets?
the worst was my favorite slugs well group the best so far, the fx hybrid 26g
none of the Zan slugs did this?
Neilson's out of a box only had a few 5 not bad the one box of the fx hybrids 28 out of 100.
is this corrosion or casting now i see where possibly the fliers come from possibly? or dirty the barrel?

Just a guess but almost looks like your cleaning agent is causing corrosion.

They look pitted, like rust can do. Or even the effect strong acids can have on materials susceptible to a particular acid.
I'm thinking that what ever cleaner you are using is corroding the tin or antimony out of the projectiles. I don't think the lead would react like that as I've used lead lined sulfuric acid etch tanks and the lead never was affected by the acid.

Sorry guy.. my bad
simple green wow who knew

Lol. Ya I use simple on something here and it was not good .. lol

There site and all has no disclaimers on anything. Safe for all ( hooray) ..lol

There's that disclaimer about test in a inconspicuous area first so I guess maybe grab a pellet and slug and check before using on a bunch ..

Good luck. Like neertheif I use dish soap wash

I remember now it " pitted" my cast aluminum P K grill when I used it to clean up a simple in it .. ( not happy)
