Help Picking a scope for around $250 -325

That might be just me, but I think an LPVO is best for an airgun/those distances. So a 1-6 or a 1-8.

I agree,if your not shooting over 70 yards,you don't need that type of power unless your sitting on a bench trying to stack pellets. I lower power scopes will weight less and not be as difficult to use. Just point and aim type of thing.

If you are often hunting or pesting at under 15 yards it might take you a little longer for target acquisition as compared to a scope that will zoom below 6 power, but not the end of the world, especially if you are shooting in a familiar area. In Hunter Field Target competitions, a 6-24x50 scope is very commonly used and we shoot at metal targets at 10-55 yards that have kill zones from 3/8 inch to about 2 inches.

For my Marauder I have usually been able to get away with medium rings and still have room for the magazine, but you might have to go with high rings depending upon ring manufacture. I currently have a set of these on a 6-24x50 Athlon Talos that sits on my .177 Mrod.

For the money it seems Arken Optics is the best bang for the buck....

Just bought 2 scopes in your price range. An athlon heras spr 6x24 sfp ir mil $295 eBay. Second scope is a
Arken LH4. 4x16x44 ffp or for $290 + $20 for shipping from KI Precision. They both came highly recommended
on here. The Arken will be my first ffp. I just ordered yesterday.

Just recently picked up this Discovery Optics HD 2-12x24 FFP scope that focuses down to 5yds, pretty good glass too with an illuminated reticle only 16oz...165 TYD thru DiscoveryOpt.us. I myself prefer FFP too as it allows for magnification changes on the fly in the field without changing POI. Have it on my Notos.

I prefer sfp for scopes I want to hunt or pest with. I use 6X for that and it is not visible on my Arken EPL4 6-24. But Arken makes nice scopes. It will not parallax at 10 yards like it's supposed to either. I think I prefer Athlon. I like the raised area they put on the magnification wheel and that my two move much easier than my one Arken (and easier than my Vector veyron). My Athlon Talos 6-24 SFP will parallax at 10 yards and the glass is nearly as good as my Arken. It's kind of big for my bullpups but should look good on a Marauder. Great warranty too.
