Airgun Technologies Uragan 2 600 vs 700mm .22 cal

Not the uragan 2 .. both where. 25 uragan 1 + vulcan 3 500mm. 25 .. the .25 uragan 1 where so bad that the poi shift depending on scope weight . Harmonics where horrible in the .25 -- the other 3 i managed to understand them.., the vulcan 3 could not group anything at 80y + the ping even with the factory depinger is simply horrible.. Uragan 1 likes solid bench + a tensioned barrel + lubed slugs .. in order to perform at it best .. you will never do a of hand shoot with them .. barrels are to thin and they wip around shooting of hand at 14mm thick not even tensioned you will shoot them of hand accurately.. barrels in all platforms should be at least 16mm thick.. and 18mm thick in long range guns..
Gotcha!

So did mine, but it was loud af, due to having the tube working as a plenum rather than extra air. Which must be the way yours is set up if it's making 80fpe
All the compacts come from the factory set up small plenum orientation. Might be why mine doesn’t have that loud ping. Interesting as I was thinking of getting another compact in 25 caliber and to get it to 63 ft/lbs I would have to flip the reg and tube and create the big plenum.

My biggest gripe on the vulcan 3 for me is the ping. That 38mm shroud works wonders. The shrouds on the FX work okay if you're doing anemic tunes.

I'm not sure where he got them from.
I wanted a platform that could generate decent power from 36gr or lighter slugs, or with decent efficiency send light slugs screaming, accurately. 26.8 or 28-29grs
Already can tell it's going to be another learning curve. At least the Drs will be familiar

I will tell you this, unless you have bad hearing the ping is a nuisance.

Honestly, I'm not sure what kind of learning curve you'll need but it's a super nice gun to shoot. And Steve from AVS slugs has already done videos on the Vulcan 3 .25 which shares the same barrel as the U2 .25 700mm. That reminds me the Vulcan 3 I had was a .25, my buddy has it now.

Did these issues improve on the 2? I've seen impressive accuracy of those I know who shoot V3 30/700 and a U2K in .25 if it's another gun that's gonna require constant fabrication and tinkering to be a reliable pick and up and shoot confidently gun, that's not what I bought it for. I was under the impression that out of the box the tune is typically so good and the accuracy so consistent that it rarely required intervention other than with the bolt and trigger.

I really have not used a uragan 2 but the block is supposed to be stronger than the first model .. in which the gun is assembled around the barrel.. being the barrel the stronger point.. in my case it was more obviously because I was shooting from a soft rest .. in a solid bench with the barrel tensioned you can't barely notice .. but I wasn't expecting to start trying to see how to work the gun in order for it to perform.. when many cheap older guns don't mater from where you shot it it perform.. without the harmonics dance.. that is more noticed now that barrels ar long but thin .. thanks to all those who only complain about the gun weight...Taipans and cricket weight for the most part is the rebar that they use for barrel ..no poi shift no harmonics dance.. if it doesn't shoot it was simply a dirty barrel or a bad barrel.. my Vulcan 3 500mm was horrible.. it can't group at 90y anything but the 700mm has a different choke..maybe that is why it works..but is as thin as my barrel was.. will see ..would like to get a uragan 3 HP .. the only way to know is buying one ..Sadly..

If it works like my Vulcan 3 .25 (now my buddies) you'll be golden. I have the U2 .22 700mm and it's a great gun so far! Loves 28gr .217 VK slugs, sliging them at 880fps out of the box, as well as 20.5gr .218 Zans, 33.33gr Peanut slugs, and H&N 2 25gr .218 slugs

Hello all,

I'm about to buy a Uragan .22 cal but I cannot decide in what barrel lenght. I will mostly use it for max 25 grain slugs, I can't go heavier in my backyard because of safety.

I see that the 700mm out of the box comes kinda tuned for the 25 grain slugs, but im not so sure about the total lenght of it.

Will the 600 be enough for that and still be backyard friendly? Or does the 600 needs a moderator to calm it down?
I personally love my Uragan 2 700 . H&N hp2 25 grain at 975 .not loud or long .
