Benjamin Bulldog M257

I recently purchased a Bulldog M257. Like all my other rifles, I did the initial zero at 50yds. Considering the longer range capabilities of this rifle, would it be better to zero at 100yds to reduce the amount of holdover needed downrange, and figure in the hold under for closer range?
I can make you a chart of you post up what are the projectile specs and chronographed speeds?

Nice choice. To really make the gun shine some type of ballistic program would be a big help. A very accurate zero, good accurate clicking scope, decent range finder and good slugs (Griffin) . You will be well on your way to happiness . My setup shooting Griffin 68 gn hpbt @ 950. Golfballs/paintballs a walk in the park @ 100 yds. Enjoy your new toy.

Nice. I am using Griffin 68 gr HPBT. Athlon Forerunner 6-24x50 AHLR FFP MOA. After initial sight-in, I'm stacking holes at 50yds. Holds that zero out to 75. Very pleased so far. However, I am sending the rifle to Airgun Revisions this week to do the high standard tune and depinger install. I expect to see even better results after that. I noticed it takes a little getting use to the bulldog. Definitely a power house. It likes a tight hold to tame it.

Everyone’s situation is different but I would never zero an air rifle at 100 because to me that is close to the outer limits of their range. Just my opinion and I know people kill things out 100’s of yards with airguns. That will just never be me. Zero at 50 know your hold over or dial up to 100. Much beyond that things that go bang are just far superior.

That's pretty much what I have always done as well. Just was curious what others were doing with this rifle and it's capabilities. And true, most of my kill shots have been 80 yards or less. Knowing my hold-over from 50 has worked for me in the past. Especially with doing a lot of hiking and brush hunting, many shots are on the fly are far as figuring distance, etc. You are probably right, I should stick with what I know works for me. I appreciate the input.
