FX Impact barrel shroud question

You cannot remove it without heating with torch. Also it is threaded M27x1.5 if I can recall correctly (or M26, and the thread is slightly conical).
Grab the 1/2 thread end without a nut on it in a vice (use some soft vise pads not to damage the thread), hold the shroud in one hand and the torch in other hand and heat it up. 20-30 second heat and try to loosen the thread or maybe need longer heat.
When you finish your job and want to assemble it back instead of Loctite you better use some hotmelt. More friendly for next time you want to take it apart.

I have removed probably 10 of them and never found any thread locker of any kind. I think they just get the normal aluminum thread galling and are difficult to remove. I have a spanner tool thing that fits the holes to make things easier to grip, but sometimes they still need a little help. I cheap heat gun from home depot will help and wont hurt the finish at all if you leave it on low.
