N/A Cometa Fenix/Fusion questions

Does anyone know if you can switch the spring in a Cometa Fenix/Fusion to a gas ram?

Why not buy one with a gas ram you ask? Well, there isn't a lot of choice here in Canada and the retailer I am looking at does not have any gas ram rifles in stock and if I were to order one it would take a long time to arrive and likely be significantly higher in price. They do however have laminate stocked rifles I am interested in with springs and the gas rams and rear support cups in stock so I was wondering if it was a simple switch or if multiple parts needed to be changed, or not possible at all.

Also, is there a difference in the transfer port size between the .177 and .22 versions? I was thinking it might be nice to pick up a barrel in the other caliber and switching between them for plinking and hunting.

Thank you for the help.

I switched the barrel of my 2004 .177 cal Fenix 400 to a .22 cal barrel, and gained a ton of ME. That wouldn't have really happened if the TP was optimized for the smaller caliber. FWIW, my Fenix's TP measured 3 x 14mm, with a conical shape (much bigger in diameter on the chamber side).
Thanks for the info. Interesting that the TP is tapered and not straight. Bonus as the .177 version is currently on sale while the .22 is not lol

You might ask Jay at Keystone airguns. He has not had any gas ram conversion kits in stock lately but has offered them in the past.
That was the next step, since he is here I figured a public post that people can search in the future would be a good start for the information. My google-fu turned up nothing so it may help somebody eventually.

Swapping to gas ram is pretty straightforward. Remove the built in guide, install a pin and seat, reassemble the gun. Takes about 10 minutes if you take your time.

TP, piston, etc are all the same from caliber to caliber.
