Air Arms TX200 Rekord trigger or Tx trigger ??

I have 5 TX200 (three are HC) and one pro sport purchased new between 2005 and this month. I have well over one dozen HW with record triggers, again purchased new between 2005 and this month. Out of the box, none of the record equaled the CD in user friendliness. None of the record were truly dreadful, far from it....the second stage tends to be vague. One of the CD triggers was tuned long ago by a wizard (Jan Kraner) and is near 6oz and has been consistent with no service since he worked on it in 2006.

Both triggers are VERY similar in layout and execution. My own tuning has found the CD usually requires little to no honing of the sears. The CD sears seem to be smoother out of the box and the micro striations seen appear more in line with sear movement whereas the record sears are somewhat rougher and striations at 90deg to movement.

With sensible effort (not hamhanded!) I expect both triggers could be brought to the condition you require. The CD in my opinion is superior out of the box....and unfortunately Weihrauch seems to be in a variable state of QC right now.

I do not own a TX200...yet. But I'd like to hear about the two triggers and what you guys think of them. what model did they start putting in there own trigger ? Can you safely get them down to say 6 oz ? thanks. Pete in Montana
Not sure when the current version of the CD trigger was introduced. I own an AA pro sport and various Weihrauchs, and also share a preference for the CD trigger. Over many years and thousands of shots, I have never had to touch the CD. Most Rekords are fine, but several of mine have needed to be adjusted. R

I have worked on both triggers, stoned sears, adjusted, etc. I prefer the CD trigger. I have found it easier to adjust to the 8-12oz range. I have found the Rekord triggers more finicky in this range. The Rekord sears are better quality, but the CD cage is better quality than the Rekord. The CD trigger unit is easier to disassemble and reassemble. Despite the differences, they are both excellent trigger units!
