Shot placement for .177!!

So for all you .177 hunters where is your go to shot placement at? What's your rig of choice? Speed's and ammo? Distances you feel most comfortable shooting?

I personally love the redwolf , dreamline classic, impact! Dreamline classic is my all time favorite! My range is from 10-85 yards given the wind condition permit it! I know .22 would be the easiest thing for me in hunting! I have a Christensen arms .22 rimfire and Silencerco sparrow on the end that I use sometimes!

Headshot all the way, don't matter if its 10yds or 150yds.

At44
Fx Impact
P35X

I would love a vulcan 3 .177!

My .177 Wolverine is my "yard" gun. Squirrels and sparrows to 50 yards. Starlings to 75 yards. Rabbits anywhere in between. 10.34 JSB/FX pellets and the gun is running at 19 FPE for HFT. It is extremely quite with the Hugget Snipe. Scope is the IO 14x50 prismatic. Shot placement with this gun is almost an afterthought!

I miss my daystate!! I got the m4 right now and its no where close to my daystate guns in the .177 category!

I only have one 177 pcp so far but it is a good one. A P35-177. Likes H&N Baracuda Match pellets at 880 fps or so. I take body and brain shots about equally and with near equal results. The only two runners (neither ran more than 8 feet) were body shots through the lungs, however. 21 squirrels so far in its first two seasons.

Now thats a nice and simple rig!! I'd probably have this over most gun.

Rats and mice get body shots for me, they move too much for head shots. They don’t get very far like a squirrel can. Squirrels get brain shots.
I have a Bullshark 177 I use 13gr pellets with.
My favorite 177’s are my two CZ200’s that both push a little over 12fpe. A dream to shoot and make me feel like a great marksman.

My favorite body shot is the offside shoulder. Drops them just as reliably as a brain shot in my experience. No risk of a deflected path like can happen with a shoulder shot. Worst body shot for DRT results (other than gut shots) are front of chest going lengthwise through the squirrel. Seems to get one lung but not both. I have had two run after this placement with a 32 fpe 25.
