N/A Recommendations on short range PCPs

The quest to fill out the personnal airgun collection never ends... I've given myself a stipulation that I will not buy a full size full power airgun until I am able to buy one off the classifieds. Nothing wrong with that, gets me talking to like minded individuals in the community! With all that said I'm allowing myself to fill out a spot in my arsenal for 50 yards and in. This airgun should be fairly compact, and price isn't a super super large concern, however, the better the price the happier I'd be lol.
But as follows would be my list of criteria:
1. Compact form factor
2. Maximum accurate range should be at least 50 yards(The main distance in my backyard.)
3. Tuneable? This isn't absolutely necessary but would be nice because I like to tinker with things.

With that in mind, do any of you fine folks have recommendations? Possible testimonials?? Any info would be greatly appreciated and a possible follow-up post might be made with what I end up going with if anyone would be interested! Thanks in advance!

@hesse_96 Whats your budget? Sound requirement? Caliber preference?

Old gun, but my Edgun Lelya 2.0 fits the bill. I’ve heard the EDgun Leshiy 2 described as a 50 yards gun. I’ve also read of the Brocock Atomic fitting the bill. Ask @L.Leon about the Atomic.

I would say budget would be 1500 or under, sound isn't too much of a concern, and I'd rather it be a .22 or .177.

If I could find a lelya 2.0, I would scoop it up but from my looking around it doesn't look like you can even get one from a retailer anymore.

@hesse_96 For $1500 you can pretty nice compact gun. Have you looked at a Taipan Veteran compact in .22? These guns are held in high regard. They are beautiful and many users tout their robustness. Great guns if you like a bullpup. If you don’t like a cocking lever in the rear, the Taipan Vet II has a cocking lever by the trigger.

Here’s a Vet Standard in .22

Vet II in .22

Here’s a .25 Compact for size reference.

Read the descriptions not the specs tables.

Thank you so much. I honestly would have never thought of these. Going to have to look into them 👍

There is a Kalibergun Mini Carbine on page 9 of the classifieds I've been watching...with 5 extra mags. Very fair price IMHO, stock has been refinished and looks like an outstanding job...nice gun...I'm surprised it lasted this long. I don't know the seller but I do have a Mini carbine, they are outstanding airguns...Mine shoots JSB 18's at 825 fps, good for more than 50 yards I will attest to that fact. They are lighter smaller size guns with great reputation...You asked...Good luck.

@beerthief Did you read and miss “compact form factor” in the initial post?

How does a full sized Marauder rifle meet this criteria? A Marauder pistol doesn’t compare to compact bullpups shooting out to 50 yards in my experience. For those that have those types of Marauders what’d you do to them?
Maybe i am not remembering the rifle size ? i thought it was a shorter gun ? But still plenty of power for back yard out to 50 yards .

@beerthief The details of his criteria are in his first post. He added his budget to a subsequent post. He doesn’t want a full sized rifle yet. Then the Prod is a poor suggestion because in my experience it starts to struggle at 50 yards.

brk pathfinder in 177 or 22
👍
Love my Pathfinder in .22 its currently getting a lot of attention. The Atomic XR is another little dandy. @hesse_96, do a search with my name. You will find many of my posts on the Atomic and Pathfinder. Its no secret that I am a fan of the brand. BRKs have earned my confidence through in the field and on target no none sense performance…🙏 There are many reviews out there on the both units, seek them out. At your described range and useage they would be awesome. Lots of choices at your price point, good luck!

Not even close get one of the last Taipan Veteran Gen 1 Tony at TalonTunes just posted. He has/had a few 22Cal Standards left and I dont think there is anything else on the market I would consider regardless the price.

22Cal Taipans

25Cal Taipan Compact
