This isn't the best place to ask for legal advice. Maybe try some legal forums.
Anyone replying may be violating the law (unless they are a licensed attorney in the state of NY). Many state have laws against non-licensed people giving legal advice!
Good luck. I agree many laws are vague and many DAs in NY stretch laws to fit their goals!

Airguns are designed to plink targets, shoot for accuracy and pest some critters. Airguns are no match vs firearms, nor should they be substituted for them except for the previously mentioned tasks.
