A couple years ago a member of another forum hooked me up with this scope. He had moved on to newer models. I messed with it awhile but it just blew through batteries too fast to really enjoy. I did try a battery back up pack and that worked for awhile but eventually stopped working as if the socket had burned out. So the scope went on the shelf.
A week or so ago I was browsing the web and ran across a deal on Amazon for a Batzone charger and 8 batteries. This is a fast charging unit (2.5 hours) and the lithium batteries are regulated to run a constant 1.5v output until they die and fall off the cliff. Typical lithium slope until dead and the scope would lose features such as video recording and networking as the batteries reduced power after a short period of time.
Yesterday I mounted the scope on my .25 Avenger, used the mini hdmi to a 32" TV I have in the shop and set the scope up. I also took the time to explore all the features of the scope. I snapped several pictures and test videos. I would guess I ran it about an hour all tolled.
This morning I went to the shop and, once again connected to the TV and used the one shot sight in feature to get the gun sighted in... love this feature. Then I loaded up 5 mags and ran through them plinking various targets on my 45yd backyard range. I topped the gun back off and shot a couple more mags. My estimate would be a couple more hours on the same batteries.
I know this is a dinosaur among the modern day NV scopes and it's as heavy as a boat anchor but I enjoying the snot out of it.
