Clean up crew

2024 brought me a couple shooting buddies Skype & Howie. Skype from trapped feral cat program and been turned back to local area. They both know the thump of a sparrow or starling hit with a pellet. Also if the bird don't hit the ground they figured it on the shed roof or on the house roof lol. Pix of Skype helping out a injured sparrow lol.

I have a couple "buddies" like that at the farm permission. One has become accustomed to the airgun shot and is a pretty good retriever also.

That's awesome! I've mentioned for a few years wanting to get a Maine coon to train for removing iguanas from trees or hard to get areas, after they've been shot.

That's always awesome when the local fauna helps clean up the crime scene!

I have a kestrel and a cooper's hawk that stay close to me. They have cleaned up plenty of sparrows, and have stolen a couple of my squirrels.

They don't touch the starlings or grackles. They must taste like schitt.

I 've noticed the farm cats won't take starlings or grackles . They won't take rats offered either but will kill rats as I've seen them carrying a rat from a small building that houses yearly calf's. Don't get to see if they consume them. I have had hawks show up from out of nowhere several times & grab a pigeon I just shot .
