Need a good backpack gun the Katran SC hits a lot of the check marks.

Mmm...seems that a "shorter" gun would be a better choice for being carried in a backpack. That is unless you are 6'5" and have a long back pack !
I'd be looking at a much shorter AirMaks Caiman, (X), Krait, Krait Lite, Taipan (various lengths). FX Maverick, FX Wildcat, AGT Uragan / Uragan 2 . Something like these.

already have a fx wildcat and it’s longer than the folded Katran sc
the dreamline tac is interesting. Need to see when UA will have some in stock with the cylinder and not the tank.
last taipan I handled had the old cocking lever and I wasn’t a fan of it but I haven’t tried one since they got the new lever that was farther forward.

Not sure I would trust the FX barrel system bouncing around in a backpack and providing a first round shot on point of aim. A solid barrel would work better. Guess I could throw my Dreamtac Compact in a backpack and take it for a conservation hike. I have added carbon sleeve to the liner and the shroud for stiffness so mine would not be a direct comparison to stock version.

im seeing them for sale over sees but not in the US.

The AGT Vixen comes in a compact version and is light but it's not close to the folded length of the short Katran.

I sold the folding attachment because it was pretty long when extended. Kind of defeated the purpose of the collapsable stock.

The Caiman is also only 40mm longer than a folded Katran despite a much longer barrel. I like my Caiman X but it is an unusual looking airgun.
I just discovered my Caiman X likes H&N slugs pretty well. Lots of power for them. Need to do more testing and increase reg pressure but groups with 25 and 21 grain look promising.

Does the caiman x have a decent moderator built in? Or do you need to add to it.

I wish! A .22lr would be much simpler. I’ve got many 10/22’s and 22 pistols that are suppressed but this would be used in areas that allow Airguns but not firearms.

I can build you a custom gun for far less and be just as dependable. Might get in trouble for the offer but full un-edited video proof before payment. Risk is on my for the investment in the build.
