Finally got a chance to shoot my Epic Two over the chrono and from a rest. First and foremost I’ll say that this thing is a laser. Shot everything I ran through it with at least decent accuracy and several with exceptional accuracy.
That said, the top two were definitely AEA Center Punch in 25.3 gr and 33.9 gr. Here is how each of them did:
Epic Two/550 mm/.25/103 bar on the reg.
25.3 gr
10 shots
Avg. - 950.3 fps
ES - 2.3
SD - .8
Accuracy - 8/10
33.9 gr
10 shots
Avg. - 846.7 fps
ES - 6.5
SD - 2.4
Accuracy - 9/10
I’d like to buy a pretty good quantity of one or the other, but I can’t decide which. Primary purpose is punching paper/steel from 35-100 yards. Any reason one of these is better than the other? Higher velocity lighter weight vs lower velocity heavier weight?
