Diana Diana 52 T01

I'm looking at a used Diana 52, T01, .177. Is there anyway to get more info on this gun? Like if it's a reduced 12 foot pound UK model or a full power model. The asking price is $250 USD. I'll try to attach a couple photos. Any info would be appreciated. Thank you

So long as it hasn’t been badly abused, that’s a bargain price.

It should retain its value or appreciate. They recently discontinued the 48s and I’m guessing the 52s were discontinued before that. The only ones in the series that are still available now are the 54’s but they don’t have as nice a stock anymore. So that’s a very desirable rifle.

As mentioned, in the UK, they're just stifled by the TP restrictor, and a lighter spring (which is why the cycle sucks with that monstrous piston at sub 12).

The T01 trigger is one of the best IMO though. Ended up pupping my one (T01 52)....

That is just flat out awesome! I wish I had the skills to do it and have it turn out like that. I've wanted a bullpup springer for ages now and with that sidelever it's the perfect gun for it.

The length of pull on the stock appears to be very long. Were there design factors that made you go with it like that or was it just preference?

I thought the same thing before building it, but.....as they say.....you should never meet your idol 😄

I would love to say it is awesome, but in reality....its a heavy lump that isn't alot of fun to cock, and about as much fun to shoot (despite the tune, cylinder sleeved to 25mm running a lightened long stroke TX piston).

Was a really fun build which im proud of, and.... I could look at it all day, but.....it doesn't see much action. Some things are best left alone, and the length of a springer is one of them 😂

That's interesting. I just bought a 56 TH about a week ago and it's ridiculously heavy, but I absolutely love it. If it weren't for my HW95 it would be my favorite springer.

I think it's all about the balance fella. A sporter style action shares the weight between two hands, where as with the pup its pretty much all taken by the right hand. It's impossible to shoot rested obviously, but even when you shoot it standing, and rest the bottom of the pistol grip the the left hand, the balance is waaay out......and thats before you even add recoil (albeit limited) into the equation!

You responded to one of my earlier posts before I finished editing it, but I was curious about why you placed the pistol grip so far forward. I've noticed that it's common on military bullpups, but those have to fit the magazine and action behind the pistol grip.

It was down to the ABT lever, and having somewhere to secure the new trigger assembly really (whilst avoiding having the action sitting up too high in the stock/ to keep the lines right)-

Possibly could have moved the trigger back if it weren't for the ABT, but you need to be an octopus to cock a sidelever pup, and keep hold of the lever (and gun) whilst loading a pellet.....I trust the ABT enough on these to not hold the lever (and just keep the lever behind my elbow whilst loading pellets).but no way I'd do it without it....especially with a homemade trigger extension in the mix.....

That just gets more and more impressive the more you see of it.

The sidelever Dianas with T01 triggers are my favorite springers out of more than 30 designs I have hands-on experience with.

One handy feature of them is that if you get a restricted specimen from the UK etc., it is trivially easy to convert it to a full power gun: there's a small washer that restricts the TP under the breech seal. Get it out, and the gun is good to go at 24 fpe (fatigued mainsprings, seals, lubing etc. notwithstanding).

I have one, mine is not restricted, quite powerful.I is a great powerful springer.accurate to.It worth a lot more than $250.It not a mild easy to cock springer. It needs the 20degree scope mount and as very strong springer scope.
So it is a great hunting springer that is of the bigger variety and I think is better suited to larger guys.

And just what is a very strong springer scope? Brand that is, I'm on the fence weather it be a dioptet or scope. Oh and one other thing, my barrel isn't dovetailed. So that needs to be rectified..
