Beeman When all you have is a draw full of BKL singles.

That ought to do it till I decide what to order! In my defense it moved with two sets at the recommended torque and I really wanted to shoot it today. It took like five minutes to add another set. If the two held I would just leave it that way, it just looked like it had a set of BKL double straps which are my go to springer mounts.

No scope stops on any of those mounts?

The recommended torque is a starting point. One set of single strap might actually hold if the dovetail grooves are cleaned and tightened more. Depends on how snappy your rifle shoots.
[/QUOTE. I am back to 2 sets and ignored the 35inlbs spec. They are holding fine and look just like my favorite BKL double straps. I am done and 35 bucks ahead. Funny thing is that’s the first time I have ever torqued them thanks to the new fat wrench I got for Christmas. The correct torque is however tight you can get them with the little Allen key that comes with them. After the 35inlbs I could easily get half a turn with the Allen key.

I had this problem with my 35e, and ran the torque up to 48lbs Lol. That didn't work either so I finaly drilled and tapped it.
My West Hunters stay put, but they have nuts instead of screws.

Your post brought back some sweet memories. I'm good friends with one of the original owners/developers of BKL mount. The letters are for each of their last names. The B is my bud; Bonnet. When he found out I had a bunch of air rifles he asked me to experiment with some of his new designs. What you have is something he made for one of my R9s. It had the 3 little bolts on the bottom but with one saddle on top, in other words one long piece. So it was like an extended model 263. Never moved but compared to the 263 it worked the same so it wasn't put into production. I think I still have one of those somewhere. And if you have an older BSA SS rifle, the rails are 14mm. I helped him develop those. He used my BSA SS, Silverstar and Goldstar as Guinee pigs. We took measurements from an old 14mm Bsquare mount and applied them to a 263 mount. The 463 was born. Now when I say "we" it was pretty much him as he's the engineer, I'm just the one with the rifles. Guys back on the old yellow forum would argue that they sent BKL schematics on how to build the 14mm mounts and I would just smile, I knew the truth. I still have a ton of BKL stuff when he would build them. He sold the business to Air Force and is now a professor. Thanks for your post.

I think if you slide the back one just a bit you can fit another single in ?

That's very interesting. And I like BKL
The 14mm BSA dovetails are on the Maxi grip rails. The BKL and Sportsmatch rings place the scope too high. Best solution I found is to use Leupold Rifleman rings. Perfect fit with the stocks BSA come with

I used Sportsmatch once and they cut into the rail of a nice R1. They didn’t move but I would rather the R1 stay mint. Live and learn, I sold those with the gun since they had made themselves part of the gun. I only use BKL now, they leave no evidence on these classics. I would gladly use something with a stop on a beater. I am between beaters but there is one on the way in the mail. That will be a different thread.
