It’s time to see if the hype is real!

Thanks. The mentioned BC that other “influencers” have reported, we noticed one of those was not accurate. The 5 captured speeds at different distance wasn’t being captured by his FX chrony (1 of 5 or 0 of 5) and the sample data was very limited with the last captured BC being way too high for reality and thus skewing results. To quote @AirNGasman : The truth is fantastic enough for my purposes!

Safe travel Mike!
I should probably mention that my results are not scientifically well rounded either! All of my previous tests were done at 50y with the Chronograph recording at 20, 30, 40, 50. The most recent test with the ZAN ELR was done at 80y with the Chronograph recording at 20, 40, 60, 80. Not sure if that made a difference or not.

I wish I had an airgun setup to shoot them (43.4g) faster.

Talk to Chuck. His .25 U2 would be perfect!!

I have 2 mid powered .22 caliber slug guns that I used for the test. Neither are "maxed out" as I prefer the dynamics of a smooth shooting airgun over a "strung out" airgun.

FX Panthera 600mm 1:18 at 845 FPS with a G1 BC of Altaros 40g slugs (from this past summer) at 880 FPS with a G1 BC of .17

Others have reported a BC of +/- .2 at either faster (940+ FPS) or slower (650 FPS) but I'm not sure I want to re-tune either of these airguns!
Interesting. I’m curious to try out the ELR ZAN in .22 and .25.
Did you test the .22 or .25 ZAN ELR? For both the Altaros .22 at 40 grain and .25 at 49.5 grain I’ve got approx 0.20 to 0.21 G1 BC. The .25 in both 1:18 and 1:16 twist shot about the same. I’ve also shot the Altaros .22 caliber 32.3 grain in 1:16 twist and the G1 BC is approx 0.18.
PS. I think you meant 0.02 not +/- 0.2 in you last paragraph above.
As Derrick pointed out above, that one video that showed such a high BC at low speed was pretty much fantasy for the reasons he mentioned.

In the USA? It’s frustrating to see all the IG posts from “influencers” showing these ELR ZANs but they are still unobtanium for the average schmuck that wants to try them out.
In all honesty I’ll be flabberblasted if they are even close to as good as the Altaros, or as we call them on the Team El Toros. 😂
They're available for the US if you buy them through Krale, but they are out of them atm 😂

Shoot any groups yet?
I did shoot 2 groups at 80 yards off a standing tripod.

Pretty good for not trying too hard with the Panthera. Super tight lead in at the the breech on the HM1000x. Wish my Airguns could push them faster.
