HW/Weihrauch HW30/R7 Custom Stocks

I just received an email from Custom stock UK. I had inquired about this some time ago and was told it would not happen, well here is the verbiage from the email.

"Hi We are now taking orders for stocks to fit the HW30." There website only says HW30 but I assume it fits the R7 also.
do not assume , always ask b4 you buy .

Be careful...the "pre safety" actions and the later safety versions are a bit different...Santa Rosa, San Raphael, ARH HW30

I hope they are gonna have basic non thumb hole models. There's nothing functionally wrong with my Hw30 stocks but if there ever was gun I might love enough to buy a custom stock for. It'd be my first 30
Imagine trying to work the safety on a thumbhole Weihrauch. Not for me.
Custom Stock thumbhole stocks tend to be too slim in the grip for my xx large hands anyway.

I would remove the cap on a pre safety and make a thin disc to cover the end. Then you have to widen the top of the rear stock/ front trigger guard hole to accept the little welded on bracket the earlier models have. That bracket is not there on newer HW30 because the back block is longer and has the rear stock mounting threads in it. That's the reason for the shorter stroke of the button safety equipt guns.

Very cool. Thank you for that lesson. The longer stroke of the pre safety guns probably makes it close to the R8/55 guns. Interesting

Hmmm. I took a closer look at this…….
The pre safety guns don’t have a longer stroke. They do have more room for a slightly longer spring. THAT’S why JM suggests adding a .400 spacer to a kit for a pre safety R7
The pre safety R7 has a Vortek kit installed. Both actions are cocked. You can’t see where the spring ends in the pre safety. It’s below the trigger guard screw instead of in front of it
