Other I like worn used airguns...

...they just need a respring and reseal to be good-as-new: early FWB150 with repaired stock, Walther LG55, "club gun" with refinished stock, late Daisy FWB110 dragged out of the swamp...

I like to take old airguns to places they not only were never meant to go, but most folks wouldn't believe I took them if not for irrefutable evidence. I bought this 1950s-vintage Sears & Roebuck Ted Williams Match Rifle variant of the Crosamn 160 (dual-cartridge) Co2 rifle in the 1990s, in worse condition than I usually endure simply because of its beautiful soul, and historical significance. The wood and metalwork required refinishing, not to mention resealing. I did the stock and reseal myself, adding the Pachmayr butt-pad; but had a gunsmith buddy do the bead-blast & bluing of the metalwork.

LOVED IT so much I shot the many thousand rounds required to win the (all OFFHAND) NRA State Silhouette Champion trophy and National Record certificates above, spanking all the .177 HW97s, TX200s, and Whiscombe Euro-springers used by all my competitors.

A couple decades later (in 2011) I converted a 1960s-vintage Crosman 187 Co2 rifle into this regulated HPA-bottle pistol, doing all the woodwork and metal refinishing myself. In subsequently spanking the highest state-of-the-art PCP pistols in Pistol Field Target, to date Ol' Faithful has three National Champion and three State Champions titles to her credit. Suffice to say Ol' Faithful also has a beautiful soul; 'unique' though it be. She averages .66" center-to-center five-shot groups at FIFTY YARDS, often printing sub-half-ihch groups.

Much as I love vintage-classic springers, of course they can't be made competitive in Silhouette or Field Target like 1950s and 60s Crosman Co2 rifles can... that sold brand-new for $15-25.🤣 However, in my opinion shooting the vintage-classic springers is an aesthetic shooting experience like none other.

And let's not forget the single and multi-stroke pneumatics! 🥰

Older European springers are some of the most iconic airguns ever made. Aside from Weihrauch, Air Arms, and Diana, you simply can't come close to the quality that the older springers exude with today's offerings.
Newer airguns have so much polymer on them now, some of the metal parts are MIM instead of machined, and the rest of the metal seems thinner than what they used to be. Your right, the older airguns were made of more "real" stuff.

The ones OP posted up would make great restorations.

I am in the process of restoring a FWB 602, working on the stock here at home. So far I have put about 4 coats tung oil diluted at about 1/4 oil to turpentine, Starting to fill the grain on the walnut stock, no laminate on this one. The mechanics are off to be resealed and whatever else it needs. Should have it back in about three weeks By that time the stock finish should be fully cured.

Contrary to some widely-held beliefs that I am an 'air pistol guy', 'Co2 guy', 'vintage airguns guy', 'Field Target guy', 'airgun Neanderthal', 'techno-grouch', or 'spring-piston hater'...

Guilty as charged! However, my relationship with springers might be better decrtibed as love/hate. Sometimes, hate/love.🤬 Here are a few of my springer loves lost-

Good eye, AGR. 🧐(y) But only two Corcoran stocks in that post. Wanna play Which? Gentlemen, please let AGR go first. ✋

However, there are other custom stock names in the post; so in the interest of inclusion, naming those is open to all.

.
the one under the pro Elite. , and the one over the nickeled 45 pistol. And the Bsa.
The others aftermarket’s are Css made for Theoben and a Airmasters for Venom.
