I received my barrels for my RAW BM500x & installed both to check fitment. Didn't really need to as they measured fine.
LW SS .25 24" unchoked .71 dia.
Lilja SS .177 28" also unchoked .75 dia.
Martin did the fitment machining on both & did a superb job. I will start to test them out soon starting with the .25 & slugs.

That's a Beefy barrel! Looks Awesome...hope it shoots the same
are you going to let them bark?..no mod?
I have a cut-rifle barrel HM1000x made by martin in 2014
Martin STILL won't tell me who made my barrel :( ..i kinda know..but he'll never confirm:rolleyes:

Not to be nosey, but how much $$$ is needed to get one from Martin?

The cut-rifle aspect is intriguing. I wonder what waters he tested .? He definately has tested a crap ton of barrels. The .177 26-3G .173B .178 G @ 28" Lilja I had done is going to be fun test. I need some additional parts to run that one though hence starting with the .25 LW . The LW barrel is the standard SS non choked version for slug testing. Who do you think made that cut rifled barrel if I may ask.?

In the uk, the cost of a 605mm unfinished LW barrel blanks has skyrocketed over the past year. However after doing a quick search I found that I could buy a blued match grade 500mm lw barrel that is fitted to the Air arms ftp900 for £40 less. It required a sleeve to take it from 15mm to 15.8mm and porting to suit RAW/rapids ( not a difficult job for anyone with a lathe) accuracy expectation were high as the ftp900 is a high end target rifle and I must say I wasn’t disappointed. I would definitely consider buying another 👍

Getting closer to testing. Installed a large pin probe & seal. It has a Huma reg but might try a factory one also.
Barrel is a 27" SS Lilja 26-3G w/ .173 Bore & .178 Groove no choke in .75 dia.
It's lights out in .30 but thought to play with .177 for abit.
I'll actual try some slugs even w/ the 26 twist for kicks. If no go then pellets it will be.

Benchmark. I had one and STUPIDLY sold it. I remember RAW's ads in the early days and they briefly sold the first edition of HM1000x with the Benchmark barrel option for a short time. Not long after, they stopped and, as you say, no one wanted to mention the word Benchmark. I'm friends with a well known dealer who won't even say, but he did wink. PM me the S/N of your rifle and I'll see if it matches the one I had. BTW, match barrels like Benchmark, Lilja, Mueller, Shilen, etc are pretty scarce because the manufacturers can't keep up with demand. Airgun barrels are slightly different than .22 LR barrels so I suspect that these other manufacturers didn't want to get into that business.

Have you concluded your testing? I'm curious if the barrels shot better with or without a tuner/moderator? I guess it depends on individual barrel harmonics, but most of the barrels I've tested shot better with a moderator.

I've been saving this Bench Mark .25 Cal barrel for something special. Way back I had them make a few for me. This one is .750" dia with a .625" shank. Good for a 27" finished barrel. Now you guys got me thinking I should install it on something. I've got other Liljs and shilen in waiting also but always have to many projects.

Gorgeous barrel.....definitely have it fit for a nice PCP! Needs to have some lead go thru it 👍

That .625 shank will most likely be a direct fit for RAW. The .750 will clear the aluminum bench bottle. I have a few .750 I use in RAW.

Finally got my Shilen .22 barrel back. Cleaned it up & scoped it before install. It's pretty rough internally but I might be mistaken for what I'm seeing as I haven't seen these kinds of marks in bore before. I'm just going to try a few different projectiles thru it & see what happens. It's 16 twist 4g ratchet & NOT the taper lapped select match version, just the regular match which I'm sure has no lapping. A few of the pics show the strange horizonal marks in bore. I suppose it's tooling shatter but maybe not.?
