The $2000 dollar gun.

I ended up going all in Impacts after a selling spree of various guns. I have them from 17 to 35 caliber.

BUT... I think if I were to do it all again, I'd go with the Brocock Ghost or Sniper.

I had really good luck with Daystates, too... but I prefer the shorter guns.

For $2000 I'd buy the whole Reximex stable. Nyx, Throne 2, Meta Premium.
Only downside, no .30

@OldVet Something Brocock/BRK or if you’re feeling fancy a Daystate Wolverine with a side lever. I’d want to catch a sale though.

Honestly, if you’re just target shooting with pellets. I’d suggest looking into a BRK Bantam Sniper XR. I have a Bantam Sniper HR (older version with a bolt action) and have really enjoyed this rifle. It is under $2000 new. I replaced a worn seal around the fill port and a regulator. In 3 years these are the only issues i can recall having to worry about fixing.

I was kinda in this position a few months ago and got an impact m3. Definitely not the most popular air rifle as FX seems to be split between those who love them and those who don’t.

I love mine. I have enough money to buy another (and a currently narrowing down my choices) so I don’t have much to compare it to. I’m thinking a Ghost or Edgun may be my next purchase, but the Impact is a GREAT gun.

Mine has been incredibly reliable, accurate, and FUN and I really have nothing but positive things to say about it. I got it for iguana control and it is super effective. It is a .22 compact and has been amazing straight from the get go. I retuned it to my liking and I haven’t had one issue with it, just learning experiences. I can only vouch for this rifle, but it’s perfect for my needs.

I really like both my Huben K1 and my Sidewinder. The combination of semi-auto and first rate accuracy is nice. There are several side lever guns that will deliver marginally better accuracy though, so if shooting one hole groups at 50 yards is what you want then that's what you might want instead.

Brocock or DayState

Uragan 2 Compact .22 (experienced) 60 shots 15.89gr at 860 with reg at 105b.
90 shots with reg at 83b shooting 15.89gr at 800fps and dead nuts, accurate also 23.7" long

Taipan Vet 2 or a BRK Ghost. I paid attention to what you said about being the person that has to save $2k for that ONE gun. I have Impacts, a Skout and Uragans. They all have their strong points but probably not quite as appealing if one of them was my only credit card cleansing gun. Pick a gun that has zero drama ever surrounding it. Drama is easy to live with when you are already shopping for your next $2k gun. Uragans are solid but there is always that balance valve to worry about. I don’t know if it’s even possible to have an issue with a Taipan unless the owner does something stupid chasing big power and you’ll stay under $2k.

I don't do target work, so guessing you are talking bench. Get a stock setup configuration setup for such. The bullpups I've used don't fit that purpose. While I have not owned one and given a redo - Krait . If Taipan comes out with a semi auto with a flexible stock configuration, I'd be putting my EDgun Leshiy 2 up for sale. Traditional type stocks ... maybe HW100 or AAS510. Lots of options and you'll get excellent referrals from the members here. What form factor do you like ... then look over the suggestions. Cheers!

Good point ChickenDumpling. I got tunnel vision because most of what I own are bullpups. But if OldVet prefers a traditional rifle, there are some really good guns out there under $2k.

I‘ve really had my eye on a RAW 1000x Laminate for some time now.

I'm partial to FX. But that really is geared towards tinkerers. If you're the set and forget type... Find any thread with someone complaining about a taipan who hasnt done something they shouldn't have. I'd say get a dreamline and spend the leftover 6-800 on nice ass glass and some upgrades or ammo if you like to tinker. Taipan 2 if not

I love my Leshiy 2, but it is a hunter at heart. Purely target i would say an Impact if for targets,but I am a used buyer. So for $2k you could buy a used MK2 sniper and a used Crown. Or you could go the Reximex route with a new Meta and a Comoact Throne, best of both worlds again. More parts available.for the fx world tho. If strictly bench shooting get a Panthera/dynamic express with 2 bottles and rock on the shots. Again the used market is the way.lol, an Impact and a dreamline would get 2 calibers and 2 different disciplines. People say ghost but you would still be getting a used one for $2k.
