Local Airgun Club Closed For Now☹️

Initially the Angeles range closed for repair however, in addition, the San Luis Obispo rifle range is closed permanently because of contract violations, safety issues and unauthorized housing. It is possible some or all of these issues were the cause of the closure at Angeles Shooting Range.

I grew up in the San Fernando Valley. I used to go to that range every week with my Marlin 39a, .22lr, strapped to the handle bars of my bicycle. No case. Just the rifle. I would stop at White Front and get a couple of boxes of .22s for $.50 each. Some of the older shooters would let me shoot their guns. I am sure some level of politics is behind the cLosure (s). Up here (NorCal) where I shoot they tried to close the Yolo range when Arnold was the governor. We invited him out to shoot and he put the kibosh on the original plan. It is good to invite local government out to shoot now and then.. Just my $.02

Looked at the map . Your right next to the Nat. Forest , Aren't there any legal places to shoot there ?
I posted the club thing on the rangers shut them down .(Post 7) .. I guess a later post confirmed it was that club in question. (Post 10)

But it also said it found a new place to hold there matches but maybe not daily casual shooting .

As daddy would say " son.... If you don't own it your probably not going to get to enjoy it ".

Still so many people just think they own and got private property and find they really don't . 😢.

I believe target practice isn’t allowed in this particular national forest.
OK good luck
their is a U tuber that reviews air guns and hunts not to far from you , he drives out in the desert

I know that gentleman:) yea I can drive about 1.5 hours to my hunting spots and shoot and hunt but this was a convenient spot 30 minutes from me. I could go there between jobs too during the week.

Well, that just sucks.

Not many places have basements there because the soil just isn't suitable for it and the earthquakes would dump the houses into them.

Burro Canyon Shooting Park may have an area that CASA could use, Mike. If it's still open, it's not that far.

Luck,

J~
I took a trip to the Burro Canyon range a couple years ago to check on it for firearms shooting.

Per the internet, it's still open. NOT for me though. Didn't feel particularly safe !! Haven't been back, don't know if things have changed at all.
Doing a quick search, it looks like renting one of the "private" shooting bays is the way to go. I noticed that too when I was there.

I wasn't shooting with air at the time. I don't know if they allow air powered guns or not. I can call them tomorrow (01.02.25).
