Calling for a Pity Party...

Was just going to post this..... here in Fargo it isn't much better. The snow I can deal with, and have hunted and competed in deep snow and extreme cold..... its just this damn wind that will kill you, quite literally!
Took a bike trip across I 90 S Dakota from east to west. I swear the bike never got within 30 degrees of vertical .
Crossing that North wind for 400 miles

Thought about closing in the shooting bench, just might do it.

Thanks about the range - it looks nicer without all the snow 😉

The right (main) lane is 55 yards, the left (presently invisible) lane is 128 yards, bench to backstop.

Cheers!
This is my camping shed. It breaks down to the sheets of plywood it’s made of and only the floor stays partially assembled. It takes me about 1 hour to put up and 45 minutes to disassemble. It’s a bit too much work for camping trips in the summer unless they’re 3 days or more, but in the winter it sure is nice.

Yeah but the summers are better in snow country.

That's the lie we can tell ourselves

I do miss summer. Minus the ticks and mosquitos.
We have a marine climate here, so even though we’re pretty far north we almost never get snow like some of you have. It really is wonderful in June though when it doesn’t get dark until well after 9 p.m. and the sun comes up around 5.

As Nessmuck would say...smoothin it.

I'm calling a Pity Party for the shooters who live in snow-country and don't have access to an indoor shooting range.

Was talking to a friend recently and he was whining about all the snow we've been getting. Recognizing that he was suffering shooting withdrawal symptoms I invited him over for a 10 meter session... he's much better now 😁

This year I've tried to keep the bench clear of snow without much success. It was clean yesterday, this is now and we are due another foot of the fluffy-white before it's done.

As encouragement, I'd point out that the outdoor shooting season is only about 6 weeks... (42 days... 1008 hours... 60,480 minutes ) away... sorry 😞 , just trying to help.

So I'd like to ask that the shooters in warmer climates show a bit of consideration (pity?) and shoot a couple of groups for us. Thank you!

To the snow-bound guys with any sort of indoor range, reach out to your shooting buddies and invite them over. 😀

Have a great day... it's ass-deep out there, I'm going out to clear some snow 😁

Cheers!
Well you could always cut a hole in the wall or open a window:

My Mother was raised in Minot ND. and used to tell us stories of having to get out of the house via second story windows and walking 5 miles to school. We all said ya sure, then she showed us the pictures. Mark
My daughter lives in Sydney MO, not far from Minot ND both places get a lot of snow, and the wind chill is crazy. The only place that I've had my pcp not want to shoot.

Nice out now... bright, sunny with a good breeze - at 6 F, I'd call it "fresh" 😁

Cleared the snow off the bench AGAIN! 😬

I feel optimistic that there will be a thaw soon that I can get out for a shooting session without freezing my fingers or o-ring. 😳

My wife says I'm stubborn (I say I'm persistent) and muttered something about "spitting into the wind". Don't know, after 50 years of marriage she's probably right (as usual) 😉

Cheers, hope the weather is good for you!
