Airgun Technologies Uragan 2 Things I've noticed

My Uragan 2 in 22 cal was SUPER loud because it was supersonic from the factory with most lighter pellets. I tuned it down inside on the regulator (no amount of external adjustment made any difference). Now it is my most quiet and accurate air rifle, without the need for an external moderator. It is significantly more accurate and consistent than my now sold FX M3 and a bit more accurate than my Prophet II.

It'd be great if you could measure the spring, so that we could see if we can find a lighter replacement.

The gun doesn’t have a spring issue anymore than it has a stock inletting issue. All three of my guns could have the hammer spring set properly within the adjustment range provided by the screw. All AGT really needs to do is inlet the stock to accommodate the screw sticking out the back of the block. If I would have run out of adjustment, I would have taken some measurements, checked poundage and went on a quest for a spring.

I may as well ask if any of you with the .25 600mm have a most favorite slug? My Taipan II Tac with a 700mm un-choked cz 17.1" loves knockouts.. Just wondering if any has luck with these in this .25 600mm or something else?
I have a U2 .25 700 Carbon. I've tried all the popular slugs between 36gr & 44gr in my rifle. I've tried them at various reg. settings/velocities etc. Most accurate slug from my rifle is the AVS 44gr, .2513", Dish. Next best is the AVS 44gr, .2530", Dish. Third best is H&N 44gr, .2505", Dish.

This group is just a little better than average with the AVS 44gr .2513".

I have U2 .25 700mm version and Zan 34/37/41 are all I need.
My friend who sold me this airgun have U2 .25 600mm and 0.30 600mm and he also uses Zan projectiles almost exclusively.

Btw thanks for your sharing, I was reading about this on FB some time ago and I’m thinking about doing the same for some time.
Now I’m even more interested to try it.

Any idea what the hammer weighs on the U2? Balanced valves if overly easy to open like the Cothran valve are a pain to tune. One tried and true method is to limit the valve travel. The other is to restrict the transfer port. I have a .25 cal that shoots at 50fpe with .135” transfer port using a “balanced “ valve and a 30gram hammer with SSG. I know the U2 doesn’t have transfer port restrictor but is there a way to limit the valve travel?

Hello all. One more time- thank you for opening this thread and discussion.
Encouraged by your experiences, I felt ready to go down this rabbit hole and start playing with the HS tension. Right from the start, the results are beyond any reasonable expectations.
So, here we are:

I have U2 .25 700mm, using 37gr (2.4g) Zan slugs @160bar approximately (1/4 turn CCW on regulator from factory settings).

Velocities before HS tuning were 938-946fps with approximately 40b airdrop for 1 magazine/ 10shots. That’s 4b per shot.

Encouraged by your posts, I turned my HS screw 2 1/4 turn CCW, because of that I had to dremel the stock interior for approx. 1.5mm. I fired 10 shots, then waited for 24hours, then fired another 20shots.
To my shock, on first magazine speed started at 475fps, but next day, on second and third magazine, it went all the way to 715fps. But ofc I wasn’t satisfied with that and I started to turn HS screw CW. At the end, for 3/4th of a turn. So, now my HS screw is 1 1/2 CCW opened from the factory settings.
I shot 1 magazine, then waited for 24 hours to allow the spring to adjust and then again, today, I shot 1 magazine. So…

On my last magazine, 10shots, speeds were from 920.6-926.5fps, so my ES was less than 6fps (before this tuning, usual was 8-10fps, if I remember correctly max ES was 12fps AND… now the airdrop per magazine (10shots) is approximately 15bar 😳😳😳 DAFAQ?!?

So… next thing I’ll do is to play around this setup.
My goal is to leave the regulator @160b, to find minimal tension for HS while achieving speeds from 900-1000+fps, depending on slug grains, while using minimal air pressure possible what would also be quieter than it used to be.

As for precision- I was focused on velocity/air pressure but I haven’t noticed any noticeable precision drop while doing so.

Guys, one more time big RESPECT 🫡, this was unbelievably well spotted detail in these overall fantastic airguns.

Thank you again,

S.
