GMI slug . accuracy and data

HI so this is new thread to start compiling data on slugs using the GMI freedom press and dies

Taipan veteran std length CZ barrel , Regulator set to 138 bar , scope Schmidt bender PF4 FFP mil scope
Tunes 20,2 grain 860fps ( low power tune) 32FPE
25,4 grain 920fps ( Medium power tune ) 47FPE
WEATHER CONDITIONS This Afternoon...Sunny. Highs in the upper 20s. Northwest winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.

ALL TARGETS HAD 10 SHOTS PER GROUP ,
i WOULD SAY WIND DURING SHOOTING WAS MIN 15 TO 20 MPH i HAD TO STOP AS WIND PICKED UP MORE , SO TODAY AMMO PREFORMED GOOD , i WILL TRY ANOTHER DAY WITH HI POWER TUNE WITH HEAAVIER SLUGS AT LONGER DISTANCES ,
If you look at the target with the 20,2 grain slugs the spread was all wind related as it opened group left to right , as expectedd lighter ammo has larger spread in wind . Comparison I did shoot 1 target with pellets and at 50 uyards they were2x size of these groups , I believe this is due agaain to wind and pellets have a much lower BC then a slug ,
Next gun tomarrow will be a 30fpe Styer pro with 20,2 grain GMI slugs ,
I am swaging ammo same weights as ones I caan buy so it can compare apples to apples Please guys let me know what you think LOU

Hi I am having alot of trouble with my hip walking so It is easier for me to shoot standing or sitting , however I shoot much tighter groups with any gun laying down prone using sand bags .
this time when I shot I used my 2 vets tripod again and a cheap folding chair ,
Every dau here ;every time I shoot the wind is extreme and I checked weather for next week looks like it will be windy all week so please take this into consideration , when the wind stops and it warms up and I can walk better I really want to shoot long distance , and soon I will post some bc data on various slugs .

Ps yesterday I made some 40 grain slugs I plan on trying them out soon into some ballistic gel and groups , If I feel they preform better then the MP slugs I will be taking out a few problem coyotes , I will see soon if they load into my r5m as the deep taper ones are pretty long , if not I got perfect gun to try them , which is my Condor 257 , as I had made a ,22 cal barrel with a fast twist rate that can shoot up to 60 grainers pretty accurate and btw that gun with the 72 gr 257 shoots them at 990fps so has plenty of power , I dont use it however die to the overall length it is too darn long and bulky
stay tuned more to come , roday will be a low powered styer prox ,30fpe semi auto I MAY HAVE TO SIZE SLUGS TO ,216 FOR THIS GUN

Hi . 👋What barrel n twist is used to shoot 60gr thanks

I got a chance to shoot some heavy slugs , I popped a 22 barrel on my condor and adjusted speed to 1000fps , popped on my pm2 5x45 scope with tremor 3 , here is best group I shot 100 yards , this was seated on my 2 vets tripod , and the gun used , coming soon bc data ,I did bring out my lab radar it did not pick up my shots with the microphone or the doppler I got to figure it out to get data , I really want to get data for these slugs , I do have many more guns to test with it ,

HI its raining here and now snowing , I grabbed my R5m out of safe I put on a sightron 3 x16 scope , i sent alot of time zeroing scope and trying to get lab data to read , weird it worken on the evol mini this mornign and on my r5m it is reading 2400fps go figure no bc data yet but here is gun and a 100 yard group , i swaged some 33,2 grain , deep taper slugs has a promising group , then I spent 6 clips trying to get lab data functing while I was shooting a 4 inch and a 6 inch plate , slugs were all shooting straight no fliers if anythiong in the r6m I feel they need to be resized to .216 , this is my coyote gun and is set up to shoot mp slugs 34 grainers , . next time out I will compare 50 and 100 yards with both slugs LOU

HI I got a new update on GMI , I just got my new ,30 caliber die with cup base and made some 75 grain slugs , to test in the Western rattler , I did get some wire cut to also make 80 and 90 grain slugs after this , I will post my results in next few days , Ps I also got a ballistic computor to test some bc on slugs , The western is a new gun so may take some tuning on this platform however it can produce 180fpe and the magizine depth is like over 3/4 inch , so should be interesting platofrm to 9push limits on gun and slugs . HI so I got a chance to test the GMI ,25 caliber slugs , Today , I used a FX Maverick , 150 bar reg setting , I shot a few slugs to check fpe and exceeded 90fpe at this setting , I brought out 2 slugs , on being a Bobs Boatail slug in ,250 they weigh around 41.6 grains , unlubed and unsized , I made some GMI slugs weighing ,40 grains
here is a picture of 100 yard data and also the reading on the FX ballistic caculator
the weather was about 23 degrees wind was 8 to 13mph wind 3/4 value
all targets got 15 to 20 shots in them
The bobs botail slugs I did not show groups these slugs are like a flat head solid slug , these were popular in 2014 era and ewere hard hitting but more of a close range slug
