Winter Projects Show em! & the progress on my P-Rod build

What’s everyone working on? Let’s see what’s on your work bench? Post any new or recent Airgun projects in the comments.

I recently got my huma reg installed in my P-Rod. I’ve only shot a handful of mags but it’s shooting way more consistent than I expected. I probably should just tune and quit messing with it. Ofcourse I wont, it Never ends hahah. Delrin poppet and hammer spring experiments next.

I did quite a few mods to this thing over the last month. It’s been a lot of fun and I’ve leaned a bunch. Even learning to use a lathe and mill. Shout out and thanks to the few guys that gave me pointers along the way. Hope to be at a point to share with the next guy.

Here’s a string I shot and a pellet fps/fpe test. Once tuned should easily hit 18.5-19 fpe for 3 mags(24 shots). Nice and snappy sounding shot and not to hard to cock. Got a beautiful wood stock once I finish this dang thing lol.

Take care
Rob

Nice work Rob🎯,
My problem with doing modifications … I never make the time to take notes😛.

I need some pointers, all I can get is 22 shots at 16.5 fpe. I have a Huma regulator and a .105 tp.

Here’s some of the stuff I did to mine. I did some internal valve work but it’s probably not needed to get to 18ish fpe for 24 shots.

I would start by matching all your ports from the valve output to the barrel. The barrel is already .125 so I’d suggest just drill your valve output hole and TP to match that. Just doing that would probably help a lot.
I’m also running a lightweight hammer and No gauge. I’m new to all this myself. Feel free to ask any questions or pm. I’ll share what I’ve learned so far. I should know more once it’s warm and I get more trigger time.

Good luck

Thanks i have to take notes or I forget everything. These dang mods are a never ending rabbit hole. Always a chasing a few fps or tighter numbers. I need to learn when to quit 🤣

I got all geared up for winter projects. I found the shot tube for my 1934 buck jones that I have had forever. Took it apart refinished the inside and put it back together. Took a couple hours.
But winter is like six months long. So I bought a 1957 Daisy Western Auto gun that was not working. Outside is perfect so I got it and took it apart . Seal was stuck. Works like new .
So I bought a 488 and just started shooting . I also bought another gun safe for all the winter projects.

I finally made a stock for my 25 caliber Avenger. It was my second PCP but the third was my 25 P35 and I discovered I really prefer bullpups. But I still pull this one out occasionally. Now that it has a decent stock maybe I'll use it more. The wood is from retired church pews. Inletting was a terrible chore but eventually I got it done.

I stay bored... lol...I build as much as I shoot... 😆
I’m really enjoying this P-Rod build. Its been as fun as shooting. I’d like to try to make a barrel and shroud. Not sure I’m ready to chuck up a $100-$150 barrel blank. Very good chance I’d ruin it. 🤣 I’ll get there some day. Maybe I’ll message you soon with some ideas on a build. Thanks.

I love building. If it's not competition shooting, chrony numbers, scope zeroing, or accuracy testing. I doubt I shoot 100 pellets/slugs a year... 😆 even for competition I generally verify my chrony numbers and zero either the day before or the morning of.
