EFT, who wants it?

How about you call it "10 to 55 20fpe field target" and "20 to 120 100fpe field target"?

keep it simple... no branding really needed is there?

Best post I've seen on AGN in a very long time.

Lots of common sense and reason in this route, just do away with all the politicking. What's gonna make the politician feel important then though?

Why be extreme when you can be ultimate Pellet slugs and rim fire the ultimate Field Target challenge?
why not " Ultimate Extremes Field Target "to use any gun up to 45/70 cal. or if out in the desert matches ,Howitzers !
Now IF - all the same rules and limitations of FT apply, but the only difference is distance ( say a close of 30 yds and far of 75 yards ) now that would be interesting with no extra $$ involved .

do the EFT or U or X matches still abide by the Troyer scale ?
or is the Troyer scale recalculated for EFT <U<X ?

I came up with this early on, and usually work out the numbers for the Phoenix matches. I havent seen it used on the AOA version of long range/high power though.

Wow, I had no idea all this drama went on with XFT/UFT... I don't even know what to say other than it's pretty saddening.

@Franklink do you have the standard FT distance multiplier or did you just do the straight Troyer calcs out to cover the longer than 55 yard kz's? I was never a big fan of the distance multiplier as it didn't cover when smaller targets were at distance but not past 45 yards. Take a 1/2" kz, the distance multiplier starts at 45 yards but it is not legal to set that target past 25 yards. The distance multiplier should ultimately be different for each kz size.

I used distance multipliers, but had to modify them from the sub20 Troyer scale.

25-50 yards = distance/kill zone size

51-75 yards = distance/kill zone size (1.125)

76-100 yards = distance/kill zone size (1.25)

For EFT there’s no mention of a difficulty scale per se, but some of the MDs use the scale developed by FLink. Regular AAFTA generally shooters shoot .177 with a few and far between .20, so pellet diameter only minimally affects KZ difficulty.

For EFT, where pellet or slug diameters are generally from .22 to .30, difficulty is increased somewhat especially on very small KZs under 3/4 inch down to 3/8 inch comparing .30 to .22. Perhaps an additional factor is warranted based on projectile diameter? In all reality it is a difference no doubt, but a minimal difference. And the shooter gets to choose .22, .25, or .30, so it’s shooters choice.
