Snowpeak M60B leak

My M60B is leaking from the connection from the bottle adapter to the steel threaded fitting with the tiny o ring and the 4 hex screws (does anyone know what this part is called? Threaded qd fitting maybe)
I replaced the o ring and it’s still leaking. It is screwed on as tight as possible, so no, it’s not that, and yes, the new o ring is still good. I know some of those pieces had machining issues from the factory but I can’t see anything wrong on mine so I’m at a loss unless there is something in the bottle adapter that could be causing the leak.
I filled it and shot a mag through it when I first got it and then had to deal with some things so it hadn’t been shot or filled since. The leak is pretty bad. Empties from full fill in just a few hours.
It’s basically new. No mods or anything and it leaks right away. Not really happy about the quality control. The more I read about them the more issues I’m seeing.

i had severe issues with that as well. including a deep and sharp cut in the o-ring ridge. after polishing all the sharp edges down. it was still leaking. i have tried many things to mitigate it, like extra seals on the bottom of the threads and adding extra (thin) o-rings in the original psition to make the seal bigger. none of that has helped.
BUT strangely, now i have one of the spare original o-rings and some silicone grease in there and it has been holding pressure over 1 1/2 months pretty good: it lost max. 20 bar in that time (don't know from where).

if the gun is so new, maybe you can return it?

Yeah, I actually saw your post about the problems you had with yours. Hopefully I can get it to seal. I’m going to try a slightly larger O-ring and see if that works. As long as I waited to get it, I would really prefer not to have to send it back. I feel like it would be much easier for Wes to just send me a new fitting and bottle adapter, but both of those parts are out of stock as well as the entire gun. So either way I’m going to have to be waiting on parts or replacement gun for probably a very long time.

yeah, that is annoying.
if you get the bottle adapter from Wes, make sure (if that is possible) that you get one with a build in check valve, so you can take off the bottle under pressure, if you need to. the one i got send all the way here was missing that + the original foster fitting on it was leaking, but Wes had already included a working one.

Did you replace, "remove-bottle-to-fill," system with new QD collar from Wes? I did, new collar came with two different style QD fittings, one leaked, other didn't. If Wes's new QD collar had leaked, I'd have switched back to original remove bottle to fill system until new collar problem resolved. WMView attachment 542109
No mine came from Wes already converted with only one fill fitting. It’s definitely not leaking from the fill port. It is leaking from the area I circled.

Usually an airgun that was OK in beginning but leaks after sitting awhile speaks to "O" ring issues. Machining doesn't fail from sitting around unless corrosion is involved and I don't see any of that in photos. WM

Maybe I didn’t fully explain- when I first received it, I filled it, shot a mag through it, and then put it away. I never checked the pressures again after that. Months later, pulled it out. It was empty. Filled it. It leaked. So I’m not 100% sure it didn’t leak right away when I first received it.

Thanks, clearer understanding now. Unfortunately, opens up larger range of potential causes. I'd pursue warranty claim, main suspect being defective bottle collar. WM

it was similar for me, it was fine in the beginning.
but then in my case there were sharp edges that slowly destroyed the seal.
and i actually have taken the bottle of now and then to work on the gun.

hope you will find a fix.

I thought I found an o-ring that stopped the leak but it only slowed it down. Wes is sending me some different o-rings to try out. Hopefully those work. If they don’t I believe he will send me a new collar once he gets them in. Hopefully it doesn’t come to that.
You can have my old "remove-bottle-to-fill" collar/adapter just for postage so that option is available. I'm in Tampa. I bought updated adapter from Wes since returning bottle to gun after filling always used some tank air to fill gun back up and all air is precious in a thirsty .35. WM

UPDATE- the old style remove bottle to fill collar I received from @WorriedMan does not leak. Tried the O-ring from his on mine and mine still leaks. Still have not received additional O-rings to try besides the ones I have that are too large. At this point I believe that the stepped down in her portion of my collar where the tip of the port fits in is just too large.. Hopefully, I can find an O-ring that will fit and seal it. Hopefully the new ones will come from Wes this week.

Good Deal, figured those parts might help narrow down problem. Have you tried using, "remove-bottle-to-fill" system to use the gun? Finger tight on adapter was all I ever did, only used that method a few times but worked OK. WM

Yes, it shoots fine with it, but you lose air when filling and with the .30 every cu in counts especially when you can’t completely fill the bottle

Agreed, even more critical losing air with a .35. The $37 I paid Wes for the updated collar was well worth it. Even if not ideal, I'm glad you have a functioning airgun to enjoy until Wes gets everything figured out. Found a second life for those parts, too. Win-Win. WM
