How does a sticky thread affect views? -Video-Blowing up a marshmallow heart with a Firebird

Hey airgunning friends!

I would like to get your opinion. I have been "hosting" the Unofficial Monthly Shooting Challenge in the Target Shooting Thread for some time now, and I am pretty familiar with how these act with views and all that. This last one @Michael made a sticky thread (THANK YOU MICHAEL for the recognition!!) seemed to get less recognition as something in the normal thread.

What are your thoughts? Do you watch the things in the "auxiliary" threads, or just stick to the General Discussion?

while sticky threads do sit at the top and gather first light,,, I normally close the section of stickys, after many years here, I don't get much from them,,,

BUT,,, there are new members to think of and I should not omit the many many viewers that come and go,,, some stick around and become members

I frequently skim over the sticky threads for what’s new and check out those of interest. Haven’t viewed yours as I have zero interest in yet another post about blowing something up.

Maybe the issue is the subject and not the placement.

I hear you. As you said, they are good for newbies, but I never really look at them myself. As a normal thread, the ones that keep rising to the top as obviously "hot". I was wondering if it was just me.
