Zan .177 22 and 24 gr slugs

Interesting...
In my gunsmithing instructionals and literature, it basically says that once applied, it may never be fully removed from the metal, or at least will be very difficult. The above methods may clean it ENOUGH ... I should try and see.
It IS pretty interesting what the bore feels like once shooting them...VERY catchy and draggy... MUCH better after a JB Bore cleaning... NO sign of lead in the bore with a borescope though...
That's interesting, considering that the slugs feel si slick to the touch, at least in my opinion, almost like there's no drag to them. But every time they go in the barrel, they are the only projectiles I have ever gotten stuck in any of my barrels at lower power levels that is. It would be interesting to see what they look like once they are cleaned up.

I can confirm that accuracy with the NSA slugs had become very bad with my gun as well. To the point that I haven't wanted to go to the local range because I caculated that 100 yard groups would measure in inches. Thanks for posting all of this information. i'll see if i can restore the accuracy that was there initially using the mentioned methods.

So i've had fantastic success with the 16gr and 20gr Griffin slugs in my U2 37.3fpe with 20gr 917fps and 35fpe with 16gr 990fps out to 211yds. 20gr 1.5moa and 16gr half moa to moa groups depending on wind

By this post I could think based on my U1 to that 18gr is the tiket weight.. I was hitting soda cans at 200y effortless with 18gr slugs cup base . Who would have though that will be possible to be that accurate with a .177 .

I will give them a try once I receive them! With the 16gr griffins I feel confident shooting golf balls at 200yds, with the 20gr likely a tennis ball.

Not many if none.

I am an airgunner from the 1970s and hitting cokecans at 200yards( 182meters) would have been a fantacyshot with a .177 pelletgun. Things has changed and the technology are becomming improved almost from year to year in the airgun business. The optimal goal for the .177 is the heavy boattailed bullet of 24-30 grain. But that has yet to come from a factory platform. Remember Airgunmanufatures doesn’t advertize with what ammo their don’t work with or work with. Its still the end user who has to experiment to see whether their $2-3000 contraption actually work.

That part is very annoying. Considering that everyone at this point for the last couple years has known that you need a barrel with a very fast twist rate in 177 to push heavier slugs. As far as I know ow Alpha Precision is the only company that has made 177 airgun barrels with twist rates faster than 1:16.
