Beeman Does anybody NOT not like .22 HW barrels?

Hey Dave,
You have many Weihrauch rifles in all calibers and shoot a lot 🚀.
From your shooting experience, (marginally speaking), how would you rate each caliber in terms of accuracy?

PS: All my .177’s display good accuracy, but one of my .20 cals. is the best of the best.
I wrote a little Fri. but it disappeared. I did to.
l was going to say I liked .20 cal. for accuracy in all my guns. Don’t know why. I find them all accurate.
Since Thursday I had 4 HW97’s out but wind had been the issue, even today breezy. I put a target at 30 yds.
Now remember I’m not a paper guy, where you watch your breathing and heartbeat. Hell I’m glad I have both.
.177 down to .25. 3 each row, with 5 scattered shots on each target.
Still windy and 22F. A little nasty. Brrrr. I’ll try again in warmer weather.

My favorite to shoot, the .25. Easy to load, and accuracy is good enough for the girls I go out with.
Definitely lots of practice needed.

Thanks for the info.
They only thing I don't like about the .177 caliber is fiddling with them when loading :(.

For the past 20 plus years my R1 has had a .22 k barrel. Probably my least accurate springer. This weekend I plan to re install the full length .20 cal barrel. Will be interesting to see how accurate it is. I honestly can’t remember how well it shot with the .20 cal barrel. I know I took quite a few pigeons and squirrels and a crow with it. But most of my shooting back then was with my .20 cal RX1.

HW97k, H&N 14.66 .22 cal., Tinbum spring and guides with a Vortek seal. Avg. 685 fps.

5 shots @ 25 yards.

It will shoot .040 @ 25 yards all day long. This is the smallest 5 shot group so far.
how are you holding/resting the rifle?

how are you holding/resting the rifle?

Sitting in a folding lawn chair resting across a camera tripod I found at the thrift store. Elbows on my knees with the rifle rested just behind the CG. Slight rearward pressure into my shoulder with my off hand. Pulling the trigger into my shoulder instead of against my hand.

Exactly the same hold as bump firing an AR off your shoulder. But instead of gently pulling the rifle into your trigger finger with your offhand, you gently pull the rifle into your shoulder with your trigger finger.

Investing in high tech accessories like a used camera tripod ($5) has really helped shrink my groups.

I installed the .20 cal barrel on my R1 a few days ago. MUCH better accuracy than my .22 cal barrel. Most of the pellets touching while shooting offhand in my basement range. The .22 cal pellets would rarely if ever shoot with that kind of accuracy. And always had a few flyers.

Now I need to load up on .20 cal pellets. Don’t want to burn thru my small hoard of Beeman Silver Ace/Silver Jets and Crow Magnums.

I really like this gun now. Especially since I put the Maccari kit back in. This is the older one he made that requires no spring compressor, yet still shoots at full power with no vibration.
