Other Chrono recommendation?

Gents, my ancient Chrony Alpha seems to be on its last legs. What do you experts recommend as a replacement?

I'd prefer a free-standing one (i.e. not mounted on the barrel or whatever). I don't need it to be highly computer-fied, and don't wanna spend a fortune, but it needs to be able to compute the average velocity and standard deviation of a long-ish string of shots.

Thanks in advance...

Fx pocket radar is my favorite for just subsonic stuff. If you do firearms. I'd say an expensive Garmin. Buy once cry once and skip the optical sensor blues..... From experience.

I have been thinking about getting this Athlon Rangecraft chronograph.

the CE is good if you don't want to spend a lot of money. I have one 9 years and hundreds of hours of use and still works well. For indoors or bad outdoor lighting you'll need the indoor light kit. Compared to the my new little Garmin its a PITA but for occasional use they're fine.

If you're going to use it a lot to justify the price go with the Garmin Xero, 1 min set up, 1 min take down. Shot view app for your phone. Mine has been a blessing with air rifles and PB's.
