Above freezing temperatures and melting snow have me thinking about outdoor shooting. To that end I was fondling my new HM1000x with the tactical stock trying to get comfortable/familiar with it.
I found the AR15 grip supplied with the HM1000x to be way too small for my hand and that the length of pull (LOP) is on the short side (12 inches at minimum) and even with the butt at maximum extension it's only 13.25 inches. I'm average build and most stocks fit me fine, this almost seems "child sized".
So my question is: are all AR15 standard stocks this small or just the RAW version?
I'm wondering if there's a style of shooting and a reason that the stock is that short.
The RAW stock is not a problem. I'm making a spacer to increase the LOP and I've swapped the grip to larger one that will do until I can carve a custom wooden one for the HM1000x.
Still a couple of weeks of winter left, looking forward to spring!
Cheers!
