Sightron scopes

Amazon has two high end sightron scopes one priced at $2900.

SIGHTRON SVIII 5-40x56mm ED FFP Riflescope, Zero Stop Illuminated LRM Reticle

The other is priced at $1600. cheaper

SIGHTRON 25003 SIII 30mm Riflescope 10-50x60mm, Long Range MOA Reticle

Who knows the difference at these dollar price points- where’s the value?

How are you liking yours for use with field target? The weight could cause some balance issues especially offhand shots. The S3 is plenty good enough for FT use if you ask me, granted I don't like its turrets. Would I buy the S8 again for FT use knowing what I know now? Probably not actually.
The weight is no problem with this particular model

My current primary Hft rig is a Redwolf with a Sightron S3 10-50x60 MOA-H reticle
I have a Thomas Carbine due very soon but left wrist surgery is going to slow me down 😵‍💫

Of recent my primary and backup HFT rigs use the Sightron S3’s SFp and my HFT pistols are using Sightrons S-Tac 4-20x50 FFP

Are the STacs very picky about your head position?
You’re asking if the eyebox is forgiving or generous. I would say yes, but having set up 30 different scopes on 30 different guns I have learned that when someone is having trouble getting comfortable behind a scope it is usually because of the way they are trying to set up the scope.
Being as I have a right side neck issue I can say, for me that the S-Tac is no problem.
What type of Airgun are you wanting to mount it on? Bullpups are always more challenging because of ergonomics

Was thinking of trying one on my HW98. I'm currently using an old, but like new, SII bigsky 4-16X42 mill dot. These are Japanese made front focus with really clear glass. Problem I'm having is with head position or eye box or whatever you want to call it, if it's right, it's hole in hole, if it's not then 1 or 2" off low or to the side. It's really annoying..lol. The Hawke airmax 2-7X32 does the same thing to me, but the vantage doesn't?
The new SI 4-12X40 doesn't seem to do it either
at least not like the others. I shoot with glasses with corrected near and far focus so I'm wondering if this is my problem, another lens's to get lined up with the others.
I've set up plenty of scopes, tried tweaking the ocular after the initial set up, focus, refocus parallax...etc.
That's why I was asking about the STAC?
Have you ever experienced this before?
Ergonomics isn't a problem for me.

Try Taking your glasses off and let the scope do the work
or
buy glasses with bigger lenses to avoid the progressive features from interfering?
im very curious so keep us posted

I thought about that, but it's a hassle taking off putting on to read, then you have to have the ocular adjusted for without the glasses, then you forget and look through with the glasses and it's blurry...lol. Mine are bifocals and the bottom half isn't in the way, I'm looking through the top distance part.
So you think this is the problem?
Has this happened to you with glasses before?"

yes... i had this problem, so i had glasses made that were much larger overall (not thicker) and i asked the optometrist to put the progressive / bifocal part as low as possible... problem solved.
