What did you learn today - Airgun related

I learned ... that upon revisiting old skills that should be second nature to have an anwser for .. I simply have forgotten about when discovered I screwed up, Thus a bump to the forehead after the fact realizing I'm slowly losing my mind

I learned not to rest your barrel on your gun racks when at a shoot. The zero will definitely move.

That's me, painful hardly describes it.

It is better to walk away before frustration causes more problems than you already have!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I learned it's still to cold outside to shoot.

Who isn't!!

That I need to keep better notes on the individual Zeros and holdovers on my different PCPs. To that end I purchased a few small spiral binders to write that info into.

The younger folks ... as there is a curve where we are learning and retaining such knowledge and memory is healthy, then the down side where the ability to recollect all we once knew able to utilize it in a moment notice starts to wane and for many seems absent, yet some triggering word or situation trigger the memory having you say to self ... HEY I'm pretty smart

I learned that scratches on a new $2300 airgun is acceptable . My only new airgun with a very minor blemish was my $200 pp700. I guess I've been lucky on my dozen or so new airguns costing $1500 and under.

Just because a .30 pellet fits thru a moderator doesn't mean it will fire out of said moderator.

Sorting pellets doesn’t eliminate flyer’s!. Pellets that aren’t supposed to work in specific barrel profiles do!. It’s more fun to shoot small caliber low velocity guns at longer ranges!.

I learned that if you convert the Hatsan Jet 1 to the Jet 2 with the double cylinders, make sure you do a good job of tightening both grub screws. Otherwise the pressure will push the cylinders away from the block and transfer port and you'll see a huge drop in fps. Worst case is that the cylinders become dangerous projectiles (luckily I figured this out in time!).
