twist rates for 30 cal 45-55 gr slugs

1-20 @ for 56g and a 1-26 of the 45's as a suggestion, tho a 1-26 may shoot both well if the heavier slugs can be shot fast !!
For ANY given twist rate the Faster said projectile passes down the barrels length, higher will be it's exit RPM ... so in other words a barrels twist rate that might be on the too slow of twist can be coaxed into some added heavier projectile stability if said projectile can get sped up.

Motorhead, can you expand a bit on the "faster" issue. My understanding is that regardless of the FPS, a 1:25 for example will always spin the projectile one time each 25 inches because that is how the barrel is "cut." If you had a 25" barrel and a 1:25 twist rate, the pellet, etc. would revolve one time whether it took .1 second or 10 seconds to leave the barrel?
