FX DRS .22 for NRL22?

I'm looking to get back into NRL22 with an air rifle (I shot a Vudoo a few years ago). I'm looking at the DRS Pro 700 in a Delta Force chassis. Is a .22 slug the best caliber choice? I want laser like precision at 50y, to hit that 1/4" target, while still having great ballistics out to 150-200y, for the longest shots.
I still have a scope, rings, bags, bipod, etc., so I think I only need the barreled action, chassis, ammo, and a filling tank. Is there anything else air rifle specific I should get? I'm looking at a 6.8L tank, so I have enough juice to last all day at a longer match.

I don't shoot competitively, so I can't say what caliber is better.
I will say I have a DRS Pro 25 700 and a DRS Classic 22 700 and both are equally accurate.

I also prefer the 25 caliber over the 22 caliber for ranges past 150 yards.

I will also say that the MDT Elite Chassis on DRS Pro is worth the money, IMHO
Especially after what some fellow members have said about the Delta Force chassis.

.25 caliber is usually more air efficient, which means you can push a heavier slug (with a greater BC) easier than the same weight .22 caliber slug.

Still to this day I don't understand why NRL22 allows airgunners to use .25 caliber. It's like giving us a handicap and I don't agree with it. Its called NRL22 not NRL25.

I can take the other side of that and say that the .22 LR generally has more FPE compared to even a .25 high power slugger. So, if we're trying to be fair, why not allow same or similar FPE for NRL-22? I've heard whining that the slightly greater BC of a .25 slug like the Altaros Smooth 49.5 grain or .22 Altaros King 40 grain makes it "unfair" for the rimfire shooters with bullets with slightly less BC. But no one mentions how much easier it is to be accurate with the rimfire due to lock times being 1/10th that of the air rifles... There are Pros and Cons to each, and they generally even out in the long run.

I really like the MDT ACC. I have three. But I need to be able to adjust the cheek riser and LOP quickly. I have a tall head and long neck, so when I go back and forth between mostly prone stages and positional stages, I will adjust the settings a few millimeters.

I think he's pointing out that the current top NRL22 Airgunner (and the number two shooter) both shoot Pantheras. But I'm pretty sure that's a combination of great equipment and excellent skills. I'm not going to start winning national matches by buying a specific gun.
Hard to say. Airguns are getting closer to RF but none were in top 50 at NRL-22 Nationals in 2024.

I don't want to get off topic with this in particular, but larger caliber has an advantage on edge hits, esp if you consider the 1/4" kyl. Miniscule yes, but math is math.

I'd love to hear more about this, or link to discussion. I've been toying with the idea of the DF Panthera chassis. I believe there's a v2/v3 coming that has slightly more air capacity, usable mlok slots, a bridge, and might be marginally lighter (though I'd prefer heavier).

This is the main one I remember seeing…

Exactly, Pros and Cons of each, which obviously still favor the RF since PCPs haven't broken into the top 50 at the NRL-22 Nationals, except for Dubber (28th?) in 2023. As good as Justin Welch is shooting this year, he could be the first to break into the top 20...

I can't find the thread that was posted, but what was said is, they had to sand or file off rough spots to get their DRS to fit in the chassis.

That is a review for the Panthera chassis. Some of the issues might carry over, particularly the fit and finish, which doesn't bother me, since I expect to bang the rifle around on barricades. The lack of directions, a spot for the safety (which could be Panthera specific as well), and left handed cocking (I learned to adjust to the right man's world as a child) don't bother me. A missing plug and bad cutouts could be more problematic.
I will report back when mine gets here. The .22 barreled actions are on backorder, so it could be a while.
