News on American Air Arms

They passed around a couple prototypes to the YouTube and forum influencers and I was eagerly impressed and hopeful to buy one. However, after a long list of excuses, delays and disappointment I have moved on and doubtful that I will ever purchase one of their guns or barrels. It’s certainly not a positive model or a good way to do business IMO.

My son shooting the HPS 30 when Tom was gracious enough to let me play with it. Date on pictures is December 16 2023.

As far as Americanairarms is concerned, I will never ever purchase anything never again. I owned a 357 Slayer with issues since day one ,have other friends that have nothing but problems with theres..One of them gave up( done with the leaks)my one friend has had his slayer there for 14 months for a barrel changed because he had a bunch of slugs stuck in it. That’s exactly what happened to me This was quite a few years ago, and when I sent the gun back to him, he fixed it. It came back to me with the same issue and it took months to get it back.( don’t get me wrong the Slayer when it shoots it)shoots unfortunately it spends more time in repairs than it does out on the field) those valves that he has do not work no matter what he says. He is the most unprofessional person I’ve ever met and he owes a lot of people money and that is a fact!! of guns that were purchased six years ago and never received them. I finally started receiving payments from him after a 70-year-old man was waiting for his 457 and was hoping he’d see it before he die cancer how embarrassing is that that was on another form, after that he started making payments. AOA should be embarrassed being in business with him. As far as the emails are concerned, good luck I can’t believe the amount of times he lied to me year number two he told me the 452 is ready. All they needed was the bottom rail. The funny part is people were blaming me for tolerating that what was I supposed to do? What really pissed me off was watching this guy go on vacations and going on Safari hunts while he owes people money I could’ve put my $2800 in the stock market six years ago and with a triple or quadruple my money. He ended up with a interest free loan. From what I understand about some MLA he is not part owner. He’s a consultant I could be wrong but that’s what I’ve heard. I’ve been around air guns for 30 years and I always give people the benefit of doubt I think waiting six years and not receiving something with patient enough. He still owes me $550 not 450 like he claims I paid him $2800. 6 years ago of October of last year. So far I’ve gotten two $900 payments and one for $450, that adds up to 2250 $$550 still owed, i’ve kept my mouth shut long enough, hopefully to get some refund so hopefully he at least finish his pain rifle back. There’s a lot more but it’s not even worth it discussing at this point. I just want my money back and forget he ever existed. It was one hell of a Ponzi scheme he had going. I can’t believe I actually defended him on the forms years ago when people were purchased rifles and takes over a year to get them in most cases, not get them at all then I have to fight for their money back.

That’s the problem with them… no communication. Been hearing about the new guns for 2 years and it looks like AOA just got one a couple days ago.
Yeah, it’s really sad. I spoke with Tom for the past nine or 10 years and he always seemed like a gentleman on the phone but then again most con artist do.

My apologies to Tom and American Air Arms. If you had read the title of my post, it was for NEWS about the company. I never intended this to be place to bash the company or its owner. Moderator, please feel free to delete this post!
Bashing ? You wanted news about the company you got it? Besides, it’s not bashing when it’s the truth. Bashing?? I should’ve started bashing him three years after not receiving the 452 Bashing? after three years of waiting. I remember asking him if the 452 is gonna be ready for a hog trip that I wanted to set up in the Carolinas he says yes go ahead set up your trip and here we are. And it’s not just me let’s make that clear so this wasn’t a one and off. I can go on and on, but I’m gonna leave it at this. Have a good day.

Yeah you have every right to air that info out and I certainly hope this thread isn’t deleted. I certainly 100% appreciate it for sure. A brand gun I will certainly never buy. Even if one works one would have to worry about support down the road. Not like the guns are cheap. I was actually eyeing a Cpl A of A has on their used section. No way now. Thank you again 👍

I literally got rid of mine for free for parts brian from Vereduim air gave me a great deal on a 257 so I sold it for parts. The problem is though Americanairarms has no support whatsoever. The best with Tom is when he tells you that strange that’s never happened with any of my guns. It’s so laughable just in my own personal experience. I know four people have nothing but issues with them, but like I said before it’s like owning a race car without support once it breaks your screwed.

It is good to know all of the dealings, not just the good ones. I guess I have been lucky, mine works great. I'll tell you what though, if it didn't, I wouldn't be waiting for years to get it fixed either. I just don't understand what a leaky airgun is either. I'm serious. Unless the receiver is broke, or air cylinder is actually damaged, how does a gun just leak? Change the orings. Upsize them if you have to. Your friends are waiting around for years with a leak? Crazy, lazy, or the patience of Job I guess. As far as not getting what you paid for, you should have gotten a lawyer after the first year, I certainly would have. Business is business. I love my Paradigm, but that doesn't mean that I can't recognize an injustice either, and I certainly wouldn't want it overlooked. Tom is a big boy, he can speak to his side of this if he wants to. Please, moderators, leave the this post up. People need to stay informed, not coddled.

The problem is that new valve design that he came up with it literally leaks all the time in my opinion I think it worked a little better than the original a little more consistent and easier to tune, but after 50 shots leaks and I have two other guys that have the same thing happened so it wasn’t just me. I guess after yesterday it looks like I got my final payment on my 452 even though I paid $2800 I got back $2700I can live with that I guess after six years of waiting.

You've shown a great deal of patience, much more than I would have. As far as balanced valves go, I have been reading about them since the internet became a thing. Somebody has always been working on one. Some say theirs works, people get them, and then they don't. I don't trust any of them yet, especially with stiction issues more so than with leaks. Time will certainly tell. Now that bigger companies are starting to make and use them, they will probably be reliable due to all the extensive testing. Good luck going forward.

Ouch this is a painful thread. Didn’t realize so many people got stiffed on the Slayers. I waited 2.5 years for my 357 and probably would not have gotten if didn’t become a pain in butt and loop some others closely associated with Tom in at the 1.5 year mark.

That being said I have a Sonoran with a SubMOA barrel and it’s the most accurate ootb gun I’ve owned ever.

With AoA or PAD at the helm of AAA and SubMOA I hope we see a marked improvement with product delivery and support. AoA should be providing the support at this point, not Tom.
