What springer did you shoot today?

Was hoping for advice on scope choice,I'm thinking Burris?
I'm sure Burris scopes would work well. I've always wanted a Burris pistol scope. The most popular springer scope, in my experience, are Athlon and Hawke. Both are bullet proof (almost), have great warranty (just in case), and are of high quality. Everybody has different favorites, mine are Athlon Talus or Neos up to about 16 to 24X. Both are low priced. I do have a Heras on one of my PCP's. I like the higher magnification. I shoot paper and reactive targets, rarely hunt. YMMV. Cheers!

Back to 30 F. Got some shooting in while on horn. Really enjoy shooting the HW90 .20.

Also shot a HW98 .177.

My wife gave me a dozen soft tomatoes. You can see half of them around the chain, messy but good.

Last up a HW85 .22, another keeper.

The dark spots under the muzzle end are tomatoes as well. Crow

The wind was swirling, my near flag often went one direction and the far flag the other. I have new respect for bench shooters in competition.
Mine does that quite often. It is usually an in my face or at my back, wind that is directed in a swirl by the terrain causing each flag to point opposite directions.
It was so bad today that I only entertained the idea of shooting for about five minutes and decided against.

Some days are better spent on the couch..lol.

Had about 45 minutes to spare on a nice day. Took the newly CS stocked .177 HW30 out, and the .177 HW50. The CS stock is significantly heavier (I didn't weigh it), but that helps the HW30 which is very light. Of, course, accuracy didn't change, I did notice that I need to bring the scope back about 3/4 inch. Sighted it in and couldn't miss my silhouettes even out to 45 yards despite some wind. The HW50 was accurate as always and super smooth (Vortek kit).

Is That Special Or what. Nice stock. Crow.

So I shot my FWB 150 off of my new super stable bench. Unfortunately the wind was wicked, so I tried to "read the wind" and used 2 wind flags for the first time. What an experience, I sucked big time but learned a lot. In South Florida, the nicest shooting weather is accompanied by wind. My flags: my wife had some flimsy pink material. One at the pellet trap and another half way. I used to be a windsurfer so this wind thing I know...lots to learn with shooting. I posted this in the 30 yd thread but here's a card with two efforts, the circled ones are the first go around without wind info.Tjhe others are the second time around, trying to adjust. I have a new-to-me expression..."damn! I hit exactly where I was aiming". I'm sure all of you use wind flags...;-)

So if i have this right ? you shot one time then adjusted for the wind, again watching the flags blow and the non circled shot is the adjusts one ?

Yeah, I've done pretty good with that 10 meter rifle at 30 yds so I wanted to try again, but the wind was non-stop for days so I couldn't just wait for a low wind day. My shots were all over the place so I thought "WTF". Never used flags before so I took a few minutes to make two, put one at the target and one halfway. I didn't realize that the wind was constantly changing, but that explained my horrible POA vs POI. Made some adjustments based on the flags and did much better, using the same card as a reference. Not enough better to best my previous score with no wind, though. And my results were less stellar with my .177 S510xs and my .22 Redwolf, which is what I usually shoot for precision 30 yds. So now I have a new skill to practice ...
