Injured deer

sorry to hear this . Last year our Vet had an injured Deer in his fenced area , about 6 or 8 weeks it was turned loose back to the wild .

We have done that lives in the park at the end of the road that had been hit.

We kept seeing her by the main road, seemed like she wasn’t going to make it.

She must have had them stashed away, a few months later we see her limping around with triplets.

Then last year we saw her with twins.

Amazing.

It looks smaller than the other leg suggesting it has been injured quite awhile and not healed. That is not good. I helped two neighbors get a small buck off a neighbors fence last year. It impaled a rear leg in the top of the fence and was hanging upside down. Probably for a good bit of the night. We put a moving blanket over it's head and lifted it off the fence. It ran off and I'm pretty sure I saw it all healed up later. But usually there isn't anything you can do. I saw a game warden shoot a doe under the same circumstances later (different fence, however).

In the last four years, I’ve shot two bucks that had previously broken their front legs. They were doing just fine when I nailed them. When god doesn’t give you doctors, mammals become resilient.
