Bought another CF tank and wanting to replace the 6k burst disc on valve to a 7.5k. The 6k burst disc appeared to have a plastic seal on the bottom but my 7.5k discs that I bought do not have seals. Do I need to have seals for this type? If so which ones do I need? This is the style that I bought, which is similar to the one that was in the valve.

Burst disks do not normally use plastic seals. Why would you replace a 6k burst disk with 7.5k ? Are you filling iver 5k?

I fill to 4500. I have the same valve on a 6.8L tank that had the same 6k burst disc, it blew in the middle of the night, in my bedroom while I was sleeping....never want to experience that again.

But wouldn't using a higher rated burst disk not unlike inserting a higher amperage fuse because the lower one blew, i.e. is that wise?

I don't think these burst discs are that precise. The 7.5k discs are suggested for fills @ 4500 psi, Which is what I fill to.

7.5K burst discs are commonly used on 4500 psi tanks . . . that is the size on mine, and on both of my Shoebox compressors.

Burst disks are supposed to follow the 3/5 rule.; 7.5k for 4500psi air, 5k for 3000psi air, 1800 for CO2. Can’t say if all imported products adhere to that standard, however.
