Has anyone had problems with their barrel not locking? I have the latest model. The silver collar next to the red air breech spins around and prevents the barrel from locking in place. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

That is by design. It allows the barrel to rotate for indexing. The barrel is prevented from spinning by the battle nut at the front of the gun. I have found that the forward nut can have a profound effect on accuracy based on its level of tightness. My .22 seems to like it quite snug and the .30 is best barely finger tight.

There is on the newer SKOUTS a barrel tightening NUT/COLLAR that must be snugged up preventing barrel rtration on indexing types, snugged up on original style as well to hold barrel firmly.

The barrel nut is a large nut with finger grooves at the front of the gun.

Another challenge. I cannot remove the brass barrel nut. I have put the barrel in a vice and put channel lok pliers on it and it will not budge

Make sure the fatter of the 2 tabs is on the bottom. If your lock goes all the way to the bottom..it is upside down.

Now that is odd as there generally only a bit snugger than finger tight on version shown. CCW rotation with little effort should have it unscrewing.

If not previous owner may have placed a bit of loc-tite on threads
A bit of heat on it ( heat gun or soft torch flame ) getting the aluminum end cap 150* or so will break it loose if the situation

On both my indexing barrels, the nut is on there with what seems is locktite
I thought it was to prevent messing up the indexing feature?

That looks like an early barrel / shroud set up where liners can be replaced .... Am I mistaken on what I'm seeing ?

I saw an indexing feature on top picture
if there are numbers around the collar, the barrel is bonded to the sleeve ..can not remove that nut

Nothing wrong with the barrel locks or the nut...made that way
Keep the front lock snug after you find your indexing number.
Do you know how to index the barrel?
Simply shoot a few shots on each number while holding on the same spot.
you will notice a small circle forming from turning the barrel to the next number.
note which number gives you the shots at the top of the circle and keep that as your setting

My bad ... NEWER indexable NOT SERVICEABLE Barrel / Shroud assembly .... Yup nut is secured after barrel is epoxied within the CF shroud tube best I understand the newer configurations
