Huben GK1 Perfected (v1 and v3 differences?)

I love mods, but Steve is right - it’s pretty damn perfect right out of the box (with a magwell and a proper grip).

Damn, that shorty is a thing of beauty! Still waiting for my conversion kit to arrive. Should be any day now.
Are you referencing a conversion kit to take it from a normal GK1 to a Shorty?
If so that would be awesome, I was under the impression that it had to be sent to Kelly.
Any details if this is what you are discussing would be great.

Hey there -

He started out doing the conversions in house, but it’s really simple enough for anyone comfortable with it to do it. My Shorty was one of the original 5 he did before the conversion kits were available.

The Shorty aside, the Super Shorty is incredibly impressive and compelling as well. It feels a tad heavy, but certainly no more so than the weight of a 1911 A1.

Peace,
Mark

I'm in Europe, so sending my GK1 to Kelly and back is a no-go. So I bought a conversion kit instead (barrel, airtube and shroud). My local retailer will swap out the barrel for me. The rest I can handle myself. I think it's great! If I ever feel like going back to the long version, I can :D

There’s an exceptional video by Gregor (https://youtube.com/@gregorkamensek3923?si=OFZBRXCMz-bqxKAU) on how to completely disassemble the GK1 and reorient the barrel. I was fairly intimidated at one point in my airgun journey to mess with my rigs, but after doing some poking around, I kinda welcome small challenges. Maybe try it yourself and gain some confidence?

It’s very rewarding.

To be honest, it’s why I own three of them because I’m confident in my ability to maintain them.

Best,
Mark

Will do! I can dissassemble GK1 pretty much entirely, but fiddling with the barrel has been the only thing I didn't want to mess up haha.
Perhaps it's time to finally give it a try. Thanks!

how much did it cost including the shipping and custom ransom?

When I first dissasembled I found out that the two alignment screws had gone loose, out of the four that hold the barrel assembly in place, so it pays to at least check, occasionally.
The easiest way to realign is to use a very tight fitting slug, half inserted in the barrel; I used altaros smooth 6.46, which has the added advantage of having a connical butt.
